Ever been told to “just sit with it” in therapy and thought... absolutely not? 😅
What therapists actually mean is slowing down long enough to notice what’s happening instead of immediately trying to fix it, avoid it, or push it away.
Emotions aren’t problems to solve, they’re experiences to move through.
The goal isn’t to stay stuck in the feeling. It’s to help your nervous system learn that emotions, even the uncomfortable ones, can be felt safely without taking over.
💛 Healing isn’t about never feeling hard emotions. It’s about building the capacity to move through them.
Have you ever heard your therapist say, “Let’s sit with that?” Let me know what you thought they meant in the comments!
