I love working with women to optimize their health through all stages of their motherhood journey.

While most people assume the 'motherhood journey' begins when they get a positive pregnancy test - it actually begins before that.

I work with women to optimize their health and hormones to support their fertility even before they are trying to conceive, and continue that 1:1 care long after the baby is home.

This process can take years, not months, which is why it's important to create a plan that is sustainable no matter what stage of life or motherhood women are in.

Because motherhood isn't a single appointment or a single trimester - it's a relationship with your body that keeps evolving, and your care should evolve with it.

Many people view Naturopathic Medicine as a ‘nice to have’ option to optimize their health. I’ll have patients (usually women) come in because they are curious about the experience and want to know more about their full health and wellness picture.

Most of the time, they say they feel fine, but once I start asking questions and diving into their health history, we uncover issues they’ve been ‘living with’ because they thought it was normal.

→ Constantly feeling exhausted has been justified and brushed off as the life of a parent.
→Inconsistent digestion is written off as just what happens now.
→ Mood fluctuations is shrugged off as being hormonal.

As we work together, women are surprised that they don’t have to keep ‘pushing through’ as they feel increasingly frustrated. We dig deeper, we connect dots other’s haven’t thought were even on the same page, and we start to find answers and get you from feeling ‘fine’ to ‘good’, and then ‘great’.

But it’s important to note, this doesn’t happen after one appointment - it takes time and commitment.

So if you’re read to stop feeling just ‘fine’, book with me at Origin Chiropractic and Wellness.

Back in May, it was both Naturopathic Medicine Week and Mental Health Week so I wanted to bridge the gap between the two because both are incredibly important and connected.

As a Naturopathic Doctor, rather than looking at symptoms in isolation, I consider how all systems (physical, emotional, and biochemical) work together.

When it comes to mental health, this whole-body approach matters. Stress, digestion, hormones, sleep, inflammation, and lifestyle habits all influence how we feel day to day. By addressing these underlying factors, naturopathic care can support people who are struggling, not just by managing symptoms, but by helping restore balance.

And it’s not only about support during difficult times. Conversations around the nervous system and mental well-being are part of everyday care. Prevention, resilience, and long-term health are always the goal.

Mental health isn’t separate from the rest of your body, it’s all connected which is the importance of the holistic approach of Naturopathic Medicine.

New mothers give so much of themselves.

It's easy for women to feel pressure to put their own needs at the bottom of the list, especially during postpartum. But supporting mothers isn't separate from supporting families — it is part of supporting families.

The postpartum season deserves thoughtful care, compassionate support, and space for moms to feel heard.

The 6-week postpartum visit is important.

But for many women, it can feel like the point where support suddenly becomes quieter.

Meanwhile, life at home may still look like:

- Interrupted sleep
- Low energy
- Mood changes
- Stress and overwhelm
- Learning a new routine
- Trying to remember your own needs

The truth is that postpartum recovery doesn't end at six weeks.

Many mothers are still adjusting physically and emotionally months later — and that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong.

As both a practitioner and a mom of three, I know that mothers often become the last person on their own list.

Your health still matters after baby arrives.

If you need support around nutrition, energy, hormones, stress, or mood during postpartum, you don't have to figure it out alone.

So many women tell themselves, "I should be handling this better."

But postpartum can be physically, emotionally, and mentally demanding — often all at once.

Sometimes what you're feeling isn't about needing to "push through." Sometimes it's a sign that your body and mind need support, nourishment, and care.

You deserve ongoing support during the months after birth, not just a checkmark at six weeks.

I have been reviewing the information for the Thriving Postpartum Webinar and I’m getting so excited for the call on Wednesday.

As a mom of 3, I know firsthand the rollercoaster that postpartum can bring. The information I’m share is going to be incredibly beneficial to new moms and parents to help understand and navigate this huge life change.

Knowledge is key during this important time. For many women, the 6-week check up doesn't provide as much care or information as they need or want (especially for first time parents). I'm so passionate about helping bring more education and information to help provide more support to new parents.
