Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan is a Union of professional health care professionals working to improve the economic and general welfare of its members. The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) is a union representing more than 3,700 Health Care Professionals, who work within all twelve of Saskatchewan’s Health Regions, several privately owned ambulance services in Saskat

chewan, and at Canadian Blood Services in Regina. We were founded in 1972, by a group of dedicated professionals who believed that the unique interests of the varied and specialized professions would be best represented by a separate, independent union.

This week, HSAS President Karen Schmid joined the National Union of Public and General Employees in Charlottetown as Canada's premiers gathered for the Council of the Federation.

Together, we delivered a clear message: No to two-tier health care.

We were proud to stand alongside fellow unions, the Canadian Health Coalition, and health care advocates from across the country to defend and strengthen Canada's public health care system.
