Central Haven Special Care Home is a small, close-knit community with 60 Elders, 50 caring staff and over 30 dedicated volunteers. Central Haven is an Eden Alternative® Registered Home and part of the Sherbrooke family.

The Recreation Team had a great day with the elders hosting a “Queens Among Us” Photoshoot that even some Kings joined in!
The ladies enjoyed being pampered including hair, makeup and nails. Then they chose their favourite crown and jewelry. Next an outfit in their favourite colour. Once their outfit was complete it was time for the poses. Everyone had so much fun acting like royalty whether serious, smiling or silly poses, there was so much joy and laughter in the room! We have been so lucky to have three amazing students this summer at Central Haven as part of the Canada Summer Jobs initiative.
Ava, Liv and Hamid have brought so much joy, spontaneity and companionship to our community.
Today was their final day and we will miss them! Best of luck to them as they all continue their studies.

This afternoon we celebrated the Central Haven artists who have created, explored and expressed themselves through these wonderful artworks. Eighteen elders had art on display. While one of the artists enjoyed a glass of wine she commented “I never knew I was capable of this!”

Thank you to our friend, Sally Siroski, for recently hosting a group of Elders, families and staff on a gorgeous summer afternoon!

Sally prepared a beautiful lunch for the group and gave a tour of her amazing garden with her dogs by her side.

This excursion was organized by two of our families, and we want to thank everyone involved for making this trip to Sally’s home so very special!
