Prairie Hospice Society Inc.

Prairie Hospice Society Inc. We help people to live well until they die. PHS offers compassionate home-based non-medical support to palliative clients and families at the end of life.

Prairie Hospice Society is a charitable, non-government organization borne out of a need to provide care and support to individuals and their families as they face terminal disease. We advocate for and contribute to end-of-life care in Saskatoon. Our current initiative is a volunteer outreach program; “Hospice without Walls.” We provide emotional, spiritual, and practical support to people in thei

r homes by matching trained volunteers with clients and maintaining consistent relationships. Our comprehensive training program and regular support meetings prepare volunteers to offer compassionate non-medical care to individuals and their families as they face death and learn to cope with loss and change. In the upcoming years, we look forward to expanding our organization to include day programs, bereavement services, and a full service residential facility. We are always looking for new community members to join our team. Visit our website for more information including access to services, volunteer opportunities, and donation.

Every bid you place is a moment of comfort for someone facing the hardest chapter of their life. From now through August 10, you could win something amazing while helping ensure no one in Saskatoon faces a life-limiting illness alone. 💚

This auction runs alongside our Prairie Hospice Charity Golf Classic, culminating in our tournament and banquet on August 10 - one of our community’s biggest, most heartfelt fundraisers. Golfers, bidders, sponsors, and supporters, all showing up for the same reason: compassionate care should never be out of reach.

Every dollar raised helps us recruit, train, and support the volunteers who offer companionship, respite, transportation, and bereavement support - at no cost to the families who need it. No bid is too small. No item is too modest. When you bid, you’re giving someone dignity, comfort, and connection when they need it most.

Huge Thank you to Wayne and Debra Grund! “Everyone can make a difference, whether big or small, and I think all too often, people, including myself, can go “somebody has to do something about that”. And then you wake up in the morning and realize “gee whiz, I am somebody” and “How can we help encourage others?” ~Wayne

Some gifts are so much more than a ticket. 🎶🎶
When Prairie Hospice Society received a donation of tickets to the SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, we knew exactly who would treasure the experience.
With the support of our incredible volunteers, a client living with a life-limiting illness spent an evening along the river enjoying music, community, and the simple joy of being part of something special.
For many of us, a night at the Jazz Festival is something we take for granted. For someone facing a life-limiting illness, it can become a cherished memory—a reminder that life is still filled with moments of connection, beauty, and joy.
Thank you to our generous donor, our dedicated staff, and volunteers for making this unforgettable evening possible.
Because every moment matters!🎶💚

We were honoured to kick off Canadian Hospice and Palliative Care Week this weekend with our Hike for Hospice 💛

Saskatoon truly stepped up—your support was overwhelming. Together, we raised $18,222, and thanks to the incredible generosity of Debra and Wayne Grund, this amount will be matched!

Over 70 hikers joined us. The wind blew, but we stayed present—walking with intention, compassion, and hope.

Together, we walked to make a difference.

Thank you for standing with us and supporting compassionate care in our community.

Saskatoon shows up!

We set a goal for Hike for Hospice — and you blew past it. That's this community. That's you.

But here's the thing about hospice care: the need doesn't stop when the fundraiser does.

Right now, there are people in Saskatoon navigating some of the hardest days of their lives. A palliative diagnosis. A family stretched thin. A person sitting alone who just needs someone to be there. A client that needs a ride, and a compassionate ear.

Prairie Hospice volunteers show up for those moments. They sit with people in their homes. They give exhausted caregivers a few hours to breathe. They call grieving families months after loss just to check in, just to say we haven't forgotten you. They pickup and drop off a prescription that provides comfort.

Over 20,000 volunteer hours poured into this community since 2011. And every single dollar raised, including every dollar beyond our goal, makes more of those moments possible.

Tomorrow is Hike for Hospice.

If you've been thinking about donating, today is the day.
