🍂 A little autumn reminder: self-care doesn’t have to be complicated.

As the days get shorter and life starts to shift into a different rhythm, consider making space for the things that help you feel grounded:

☕ Slow down with a warm drink
🍁 Spend some time outside
📱 Take a break from your phone
😴 Prioritize your sleep
💬 Connect with someone you trust
🧡 Make time for something you enjoy
🛑 Give yourself permission to say no
🧘 Take a few quiet moments to breathe and reset

You don’t have to earn rest.

You don’t have to wait until you’re overwhelmed.

Taking care of yourself is something you’re allowed to do along the way.

As the days get shorter and the temperatures begin to drop, you may notice changes in your mood, energy, sleep, motivation, or ability to enjoy the things you usually do.

For some people, these changes can be part of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which is a form of depression that follows a seasonal pattern.

If the darker months tend to be difficult for you, you don’t have to simply “push through” until spring.

Counselling can provide a space to understand what you’re experiencing, develop coping strategies, work through difficult thoughts and emotions, and build supports that can help you navigate the season.

Reaching out for support is not a sign that you’re failing to cope. It’s a way of taking care of yourself.

If the change in seasons is affecting your mental health, we’re here to help. 💚

Gratitude doesn’t mean everything is perfect.

Sometimes, gratitude is simply noticing the small things that make a difficult day a little lighter… a good conversation, a warm cup of coffee, a laugh with your kids, time outside, a supportive friend, or a moment of peace.

You can be grateful for what is going well and still acknowledge what is hard.

This season, we’re taking a moment to appreciate the people, relationships, little moments, and sources of support that help us keep going. 🍂💚

What’s something small you’re grateful for today?

Today is World Mental Health Day. 💚

Taking care of your mental health isn’t something you have to wait to do until you’re struggling to cope. It can mean checking in with yourself, talking to someone you trust, setting boundaries, making time for things that matter to you, or reaching out for professional support when you need it.

There is no shame in asking for help.

Whether you’re struggling, healing, growing, navigating change, or simply trying to understand yourself a little better — you deserve support.

Today, and every day, let’s keep making space for conversations about mental health and working toward a world where seeking support is met with understanding rather than stigma.

🍂 Aspire Too Counselling will be closed for the weekend, including Monday, October 12th for Thanksgiving.

We hope you have an opportunity to slow down, connect with the people who matter to you, enjoy some good food, and take a little time to recharge.

We also recognize that holidays can bring complicated feelings for many people. If Thanksgiving doesn’t feel easy or joyful for you, you’re not alone. It’s okay for your experience of the holiday to look different from what you see around you.

Our office will reopen Tuesday, October 13th. 💚

Wishing you a safe and meaningful Thanksgiving weekend.

🍂 As the leaves change, we’re reminded that change is a natural part of life.

Sometimes change is exciting. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable. Sometimes we don’t get to choose it at all.

Like autumn, life asks us to let go of what was and make room for what comes next.

You don’t have to love every change to move through it. You can feel uncertain, sad, hopeful, excited, and overwhelmed—all at the same time.

Counselling can provide a space to slow down, process change, and find your footing when life doesn’t look the way you expected.

🌿 Change doesn’t mean losing yourself. Sometimes it means discovering who you’re becoming.

✨ What Sets Us Apart ✨

The counselling environment matters.

We’ve intentionally created warm, welcoming, confidential, and comfortable spaces where clients of all ages can feel safe, relaxed, and at ease. From cozy therapy offices with comfy seating and soft lighting, quiet waiting areas, extra measures to ensure privacy and confidentiality, to our thoughtfully designed play therapy room, we want every visit to feel inviting from the moment you arrive.

Healing begins with feeling comfortable enough to be yourself and we believe your surroundings can help make that possible. ❤️

🧡 September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today, we honour the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, their families, and Indigenous communities who continue to carry the impacts of this history.

Truth and Reconciliation requires more than remembering. It calls us to listen, learn, reflect, and take meaningful action toward building respectful relationships.

As a counselling practice in Saskatchewan, we recognize the importance of understanding how historical and ongoing colonial experiences can affect individuals, families, communities, identity, and wellbeing.

Our offices will be closed to honour this important day of reflection.

🧡 Every Child Matters.
