June is Alzheimer's and Brain Health Awareness Month. During this month, LutherCare recognizes the importance of brain health as we continue to support those living with dementia.

Our Luther Special Care Home at LutherCare Communities includes a secure dementia care neighbourhood that provides specialized support for residents experiencing cognitive changes. Our Luther Seniors Centre and community day programs offer meaningful social, recreational, and therapeutic experiences for individuals living with dementia, as well as education and support for families.

Our team members are constantly dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space for everyone. We thank them for their compassion and expertise.

LutherCare Communities is proud to have taken part in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada Day of Action, a Canada-wide invitation to step beyond our usual spaces and engage with the community. Our Group Homes team hosted a vibrant Party in the Park, where everyone could get together and enjoy a range of activities, from games to bicycle rides! It was a wonderful day spent connecting with each other in a welcoming and inclusive space.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special!

May 11–17 is Disability Service Professionals Week in Saskatchewan.

This week, we join others across the province in recognizing the skilled and dedicated disability service professionals who support people experiencing disability to live full, meaningful, and included lives. Their work is grounded in respect, dignity, and person-centred care, and its impact is felt every day by individuals, families, and communities.

To all disability service professionals: thank you for the care, commitment, and compassion you bring to your work. Your efforts matter, and this week we celebrate you!

During National Nursing Week, we recognize and thank nurses for the skill, compassion, and dedication they bring to their work each day.

Nursing is a profession grounded in knowledge and science, but also in human connection. Our nurses at LutherCare are present in moments of vulnerability, uncertainty, and hope. Whether providing hands‑on care, offering reassurance, or advocating for individuals and families, nurses play a vital role in creating safe, respectful, and compassionate environments.

Their work often happens quietly, but its impact is deeply felt. This week, and every week, we’re grateful for all nurses and the difference they make every shift, every day.

More than 100 people gathered for the 22nd Annual Power Breakfast. A morning of delicious food, meaningful conversation, and support for an important cause.

Our CEO and Board Chair set the tone for the morning, sharing the vision and heart behind our work. And then Lisa, a team member from our Luther Special Care Home, brought it all to life by dressing in a bathrobe and shower cap to put a face on this year's fundraising focus. Together, we raised $15,186. This, combined with the generosity of the family of former resident Carl Rausch, will help the Foundation to support the renovation of a therapeutic tub/shower space for residents at Luther Special Care Home, an investment in comfort, dignity, and quality of care.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this year’s Power Breakfast, and a special thank you to our community impact partner, Suer and Pollon Mechanical, as event sponsor, for helping to make this fantastic morning possible.

Yes, you can make a difference at LutherCare. Please make a donation on our website.
