Most sleep advice focuses on helping you fall asleep.

But what if the real question isn't:

"How do I sleep?"

What if the question is:

"What is my body trying to tell me?"

For many people, chronic insomnia isn't simply a sleep problem. It can be a nervous system problem, a stress problem, an anxiety problem, a grief problem, or a trauma response showing up at bedtime.

Sometimes the sleeplessness isn't the issue.

It's the symptom.

People pleasers have an impressive resume:
• expert tension detector
• professional conflict diffuser
• highly skilled emotional translator

They’re often incredibly empathetic and thoughtful people.

The downside?
It can start to feel like you’re responsible for everyone else’s mood in the room. And that’s an exhausting job description.

Caring about people is wonderful.
Managing everyone’s emotions isn’t your responsibility.

Not every relationship struggles because of a lack of love.

Sometimes it struggles because of:
– defensiveness
– avoidance
– misattunement
– patterns no one ever learned to repair

And to be clear, this doesn’t make you a bad partner.

It makes you a human with habits that were learned somewhere.

The problem is…
those habits don’t magically disappear just because you care about someone.

They show up in the moments that matter most:
– when your partner is upset
– when needs are expressed
– when conflict happens

And that’s where relationships either deepen…
or start to break down.

The good news?

These patterns are learned, which means they can also be unlearned.

You can learn how to:
listen without defending
stay present without shutting down
repair instead of withdraw

If your relationships keep following the same pattern, there’s usually something underneath it worth exploring.
