Sherbrooke Community Centre Long term care that feels like home. Sherbrooke is like any small village in Saskatchewan where everyday life goes on around us.

We are home to 263 Elders, 100 Community Day Program participants, 500 volunteers, families, friends, students, and over 500 staff. Ours is a community of people with normal aspirations, dreams and a desire to live life to the fullest. At Sherbrooke, Elders work, play, worship, paint, garden, volunteer. Come on in, browse around and visit with some of the people in our community. We have lots to tell you about our lives.

We are starting a Lego Club at Sherbrooke and need your help!

If you have any Lego pieces, whether they full sets or just large bags of random pieces, that are collecting dust in your garage, please feel free to bring them to Sherbrooke. You can leave them at our front reception desk.

We are also looking for pieces of Duplo Lego as well. These larger blocks are ideal to use for residents who have vision or dexterity challenges.

This week, we did a soft launch of our Lego Club with the Camp Generate participants and it was a huge success! It was wonderful seeing residents and students working together to create all kinds of things out of Lego.

Thank you so much for your help in launching our Lego Club, and we will let you know when the master building will begin!

Elders and Community Day Program participants have had a blast taking in all that the Saskatoon EX has to offer this past week!

From live music to carnival games, and of course the food, there really is something for every one at the Ex.

A big thank you to all of our staff, volunteers, and family members who have helped make these outings to the Ex so much fun!

Camp Generate is going really well so far here at Sherbrooke!

Kids and Elders are having a great time working on art projects and taking part in a new club at Sherbrooke…The Lego Club!!

Camp Generate is hosting a fun event on Friday morning on the front patio called Disney Cruise: Back to Childhood. It will feature some of the artistic creations made during camp, along with other unique displays. The event starts at 10am and we hope to see you there!

A big thank you to the Saskatoon Community Foundation for its help in making this camp such a success.

The Don Show returns with a very special guest and a meaningful shoutout!

The special guest is Terry Kennan! He is the manager of Fourth Neighbourhoods and is known for being quite the storyteller. Terry shares stories of The Northern Pikes playing at high school with Donovan and Eric.

Donovan also gives a very special shoutout to our Sherbrooke friend, George Stroumboulopoulos! George was kind enough to record and send a video of Donovan to Josh Homme, the leader singer of the rock band, Queens of the Stone Age.

Josh recently recorded a video message to Donovan and sent it to Sherbrooke via George, which is so cool!!

We will post Josh Homme’s video in the comments below. Congratulations on the video, Donovan, and a big thank you to George and Josh for making all of this happen 🤘

For the past three years, Marc Cheriyan has shared his leadership skills, knowledge, and experiences with our community.

Marc served on Residents’ Council and was involved with the iGen class in many different ways including helping with math class and the annual musical production.

Through his determination and the care he received from our amazing staff, Marc is moving home. We celebrated this remarkable achievement with a tea this week where Elders, staff and students were able to share their best wishes to Marc and his family.

Thank you for everything you have done for Sherbrooke, Marc! We wish you and your family all the best❤️

Carrie and Jen are really excited for the Chick-a-Lick Food Truck to drop by tomorrow from 1-3pm for ice cream treats!

Elders and staff had a great time participating in today’s Saskatoon EX parade!

Not only did we have a beautifully decorated Sherbrooke bus in the parade, but a group of Elders and staff were cheering on the floats from the sidelines.

A big thank you to everyone who decorated our Sherbrooke bus and worked hard to make this excursion so much fun!
