Know the signs of a drug poisoning and call 9-1-1 if you see someone you think has overdosed:

▪️ loss of consciousness
▪️ unresponsive
▪️ slow or no breathing
▪️ choking, snoring or gurgling sounds
▪️ tiny pupils
▪️ blue or grey lips and nails
▪️ cold and clammy skin
▪️ seizures

Every overdose is a preventable tragedy.

Reminder: The Good Samaritan Drug Overdose Act provides some legal protection for people who experience or witness an overdose and call 911 or their local emergency number for help. This means community members, including youth, will not be charged for offences such as simple possession for calling 911 in an emergency. All frontline APS officers carry naloxone; we just want to assist.

Talk 4 Healing at 1-855-554-HEAL is a free and culturally safe telephone help line for Indigenous women living in northern Ontario.

Talk4Healing is available to all Indigenous women living in urban, rural and remote communities, both on and off reserve, throughout Northern Ontario.

I am doing the healing work for those who came before me, for myself, my family, and for those who will come after me.

My grandpops went to the Spanish Residential School. My granny, great aunts, great uncles, aunt and uncle went to the Lake Helen Federal Indian Day School.

Every single one of your Indigenous friends are either a residential school survivor, a survivor’s child, a survivor’s grandchild or all three.

Every single one.
