Another year at GATHER retreat complete. Grateful to everyone who let me be a part of their experience and to the brilliant facilitators who shared their passion with us. I enjoyed morning yoga, awakening tea ceremony, and a forest dance party (aka me frolicking in the forest with no shoes on). Thank you to Adrienne, Claire, and Sarah at Grow Wild Farm for organizing such an incredible weekend. I feel truly honoured to be included and look forward to integrating all I experienced.

New decade, who dis?

This weekend I turned 40. I’ve been reflecting on the past decade, who I was when I turned 30 and who I am now. For the most part, it has been a spectacular decade. I grew, birthed, and nourished two girls, I ticked a few career boxes, I fell into a deep pit of depression and got myself out of it, and became stronger than I could ever imagine. I travelled the world, I learned to use my voice. Lots has happened and lots has changed. I am very proud of how I ended this chapter of my life and am looking forward to what the next has in store.

Celebrated this new chapter with a women’s retreat in April and a chill family day, complete with new homemade bracelets from the girls and jewelry from my husband.

Here’s to the next decade 👌

For the month of June, I will be doing a fundraiser for Canadian Cancer Society. I will run/walk 50km over the month. I am raising funds for all the people I know who have been impacted by cancer. Unfortunately, it is too common of a conversation in my life, having several friends and family members diagnosed with this disease. In 2021, I lost my best friend to brain cancer. She was training for a half marathon before her diagnosis and was never able to complete this goal. I will be training to complete one in her honour. The first step in my training is completing 50km of walk/running this month.

I’ll be posting in my stories about my adventures and steps towards my fundraising goals. I have surpassed my monetary goal and if you’d like to donate, keep an eye on my stories for the link.

Here’s to spending the month building up my training and running for this great cause 🏃‍♀️🎗️

Happy 8th birthday to my oldest. Even though we are an old lady now and eye roll and grunt when I tell her how much I love her, we still like “uppies”. She is a truly incredible person and I love being her mom. Off to enjoy a pro d day with birthday celebrations!

I get asked all the time how I juggle motherhood and my career. I don’t juggle it. I make modifications to make it work. This morning, I went to my mom’s to do my pregnancy course with my youngest, so a family member can take her to swimming. I’m also down here because I have hockey in Victoria tonight and I would be late if I drove from home.

There is no juggle or finding a “balance” between in all. It’s knowing your priorities and getting creative on how to make it work. Every situation has different needs and support available and there is only so much you can do. Have compassion for yourself if we need to put something to the back burner or not do it at all. We are human and can’t drain ourself to make it work for everyone.

One reminder to those balancing the needs of life, do at least one thing to refill your cup daily. Today, I will listen to my audiobook while driving to hockey tonight and go for a walk on the break of my course.

Today, my youngest was learning about pregnancy and how to support pregnant people during this time.

**New Service**

I am pleased to be offering craniosacral specific appointments. It has been a dream of mine since 2018 to be able to treat my clients from a craniosacral lens and I am beyond excited to have this available. I have sprinkled these techniques into my muscle energy and massage work and now it is a whole hour of craniosacral focus.

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on treatment that focuses on the subtle rhythms of the craniosacral system—the membranes and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Using light touch, the practitioner works to release tension, improve the flow of cerebrospinal fluid, and support the body’s natural ability to self-correct. These techniques help the nervous system enter a parasympathetic state and allow you to tap into your body’s innate healing ability.

Craniosacral can benefit people who are experiencing chronic headaches, TMJ discomfort, spine and rib cage pain, and doing work to deepen their knowledge of the body to release past experiences and trauma.

And bonus, I’ll be offering a promo for the month of January! For the month of January, there will be an almost 50% discount on hour long craniosacral appointments.
