๐Ÿฆถ๐ŸฅดSuzanna is sharing one of her favourite ankle/foot exercises! She personally uses it to train for hiking in the summer and managing uneven trails. It's also applicable to soccer and football players, runners, and gymnasts. This would also be great for someone with poor balance (but should be done supervised).

On the severe side of the spectrum, there's what we call ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—™๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€. On the mild side of the spectrum, we call it a ๐—•๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป. This commonly occurs with increased activities within a short period of time.

There is not a straight forward recommendation for the recovery and treatment of these injuries. Sometimes you can still do regular activities, but other cases we recommend staying off of it completely. You really should consult a Physiotherapist in these cases and often a Sports Medicine Physician (which a physio can refer you to)!

Overloading is the most common reason for developing a running injury. It is important for runners to pace themselves when training for a race. Your training frequency, intensity, and volume matter!

๐Ÿ—ฃ Exercise is recommended for (most) injury recovery! It may seem counter intuitive and even scary, but I promise you it will help your recovery.

You've probably heard about the ACL and PCL ligaments in the knee, but did you know they have very different mechanisms of injury. ๐Ÿ–

ACL Injuries often happen when there's a forceful pivot on a planted foot. The meniscus and MCL are also commonly injured in these cases.

PCL Injuries usually happen from a blunt force pushing the lower leg back.

These ligaments are important for knee stability! So, if you've injured the ACL or PCL, it's important to see a Physiotherapist for rehab! Our physios at would be happy to work with you on your recovery! ๐Ÿ‹

Our treatment model focuses on one-on-one sessions and providing exceptional care in a boutique clinic setting.

Plantar fasciitis is a common condition, but it's not the only culprit for foot pain! In many cases, the knee, hip, and lower back are involved too. ๐Ÿง
