New osteoporosis diagnosis?

It’s normal to feel unsure about what movements are safe and what you should avoid.

Here are 4 simple tips to help you move with more confidence:

1. Keep walkways clear
Reduce clutter, cords, loose rugs, and anything that could increase your chance of tripping.

2. Roll to your side before getting out of bed
This can be a more spine-friendly way to get up instead of crunching straight forward.

3. Keep objects close when lifting
Bend through your hips and knees, and avoid rounding your back under load.

4. Move your feet instead of twisting
If you need to turn, turn your whole body instead of twisting through your back.

Small changes like this can help reduce fall risk, protect your spine, and make daily movement feel safer.

When someone says, “I feel dizzy,” that can mean many different things.

For one person, the room may be spinning. For another, it may feel like rocking, floating, lightheadedness, imbalance, or feeling overwhelmed in busy environments.

Those differences matter because dizziness is not one single condition, and there is no single treatment that works for everyone.

The first step is understanding what you are experiencing, what triggers it, and which systems may be contributing. From there, we can determine the appropriate next steps and build a plan around you.

We’re going to be sharing much more about dizziness, vertigo, balance, and vestibular rehabilitation. If you have ever felt confused by your symptoms, follow along. We’re about to go deep, while keeping it simple.

mohamed officially wrapped up his Kinesiology placement with us at Strong Body! 👏

Over the past few weeks, he’s been a big part of the team and has played an important role in supporting our patients and clinic.

But he couldn’t leave without leaving a little legacy behind 👀

Mohammed helped start a new educational display for our front reception TV, where we’ll be sharing helpful health tips, clinic trivia, team content, and more for our community to learn from while they’re here.

A pretty cool way to leave your mark. 💪

Huge thank you as well to Shon Reid and Kasey Van Imschoot for mentoring him, teaching him, and officially welcoming him into the evening crew 😂

And judging by these photos...

The boys are straight shooters 🎯

Especially when it comes to great patient care.

Swipe to see the crew in action 😂

Mohamed, thank you for everything you brought to Strong Body. We’re going to miss having you around and we wish you nothing but the best in whatever comes next.

Until we meet again, Mohammed 👏🏾

It means your body needs the right plan.

These 5 exercises can be a simple starting point to help support strength, posture, balance, and confidence with movement:

1. Sit-to-stand
2. Wall stick raise
3. Banded T’s
4. Banded rows
5. Supported calf raises

Osteoporosis doesn’t mean you’re fragile.

It means your body needs the right plan. 💪

A lot of people hear “osteoporosis” and immediately think they should stop moving. But for many people, the goal is actually to move smarter, build strength, improve balance, and reduce fall risk.

Why reduce fall risk?

Because while we’re working on strength and bone health, we also want to lower the chances of a fall that could lead to a fracture.

Here are 3 simple starting exercises that can help support confidence and daily movement:
1. Sit-to-stand
2. Supported heel raises
3. Wall posture holds

The key is knowing what’s appropriate for your body, your history, and your comfort level.

Not sure what’s safe for you? Book an assessment at Strong Body Physiotherapy in Sherwood Park, and we’ll help you build a plan that makes sense.
