🌿 Join me under the branches for my latest blog! 🌿

Back-to-school season is just around the corner, which can bring a whole mix of excitement, nerves, and big feelings and/or behaviours.

In this blog, I’m sharing practical ways to support your child as they prepare for and adjust to the changes that come with starting or returning to school. We’ll talk about helping children feel more prepared, supported, and confident as they settle into new routines and expectations.

And if your little one is starting a new daycare or day home, many of these strategies can help with that transition, too!

So grab your coffee, take a seat under the branches, and come have a read. 🍃

I know, I know. It’s still August. And as much as I want to believe summer will last forever, it hasn’t yet.

Back to school is around the corner so I wanted to share some tips on how to make this transition (hopefully) a bit more manageable. Starting with a back to school/first day at school themed book suggestions. These are well loved books in the play therapy room, one of them is even an original from my collection when I was a child.

Reading books to your child and gently relating them to something you or your child may be experiencing, is a wonderful and less intrusive way of talking about it, without straight up asking your child “how do you feel about school starting”.

Do you have any book suggestions that you’ve found helpful for your child when big transitions are coming up? Feel free to share in the comments.

Want some extra support in preparing your child (or maybe even yourself) for the first day back to school? Check out the link in my bio to connect and book a free 15 minute consultation.

New blog post on The Canopy 🌿

If you’ve ever lost your keys while holding them, opened 17 tabs to complete one task, experienced decision paralysis or wondered why adulthood seems easier for everyone else... this one might be for you. 👀

In the first blog of my ADHD series, I share my personal journey to receiving an ADHD diagnosis in my 30s.

This is a story about self-doubt, hyperfocus, validation, grief, relief, and learning to approach myself with curiosity instead of judgment.

Grab a coffee, settle in, and join me under The Canopy.

I find this Notes App trend, rather relatable 🙈

For people with ADHD, the Notes app isn’t just a note-taking app.

It’s:
✔️ A memory bank
✔️ A brain extension
✔️ A parking lot for thoughts
✔️ Evidence of 17 simultaneous trains of thought
✔️ A place where good ideas go to be forgotten forever

If your Notes app contains grocery lists, business ideas, existential questions, and at least one entry that simply says “Tuesday”, then maybe you can relate too.

ADHD brains are often juggling 47 tabs, 12 unfinished thoughts, and one very important thing we forgot 3 seconds ago. Exploring and trying different tools is one way to help make ADHD your superpower.

Welcome to the website tour! How many times did I re-record my voiceover? A few… before I remembered it doesn’t have to be perfect. Authenticity > Perfection

did such AMAZING work on my website, I just had to show more. Check out the links in the bio if something caught your eye and you want to explore more.

We’ve been busy behind the scenes the last few months.

The Canopy is our blog, rooted in curiosity, care, and the quiet work of becoming. Here, you’ll find reflections on healing, relationships, identity, and the in-between spaces we don’t always have words for.

Like any canopy, it’s meant to offer shelter, perspective, and connection, while letting light filter through.

It’s been an opportunity for me to nurse a creative side I didn’t realize I had. Many of these posts have a personal touch to them. Check out the link in my bio to further explore on my website. From my home to yours.

I am so genuinely blown away by all the love and support for my website! I am extremely proud of it, but it is definitely nerve wrecking to share something so special with the world. Anytime I need a reminder on why I am doing this, I will return to this post to remind myself of just how supported I am.

The following is just a sample of the feedback I’ve received from family, friends, and colleagues. Truthfully, one of the biggest honours is the very first screenshot. From my 91 year old grandmother 🥹

Thank you so much for joining this journey. And if you haven’t already, the website is ready to be explored…
