We’re so excited to officially open registration for our 2026 Summer Programs. We can’t wait to spend the summer learning, exploring, and growing with your families.

This summer we’re offering:

📚 Summer Intensive Literacy Program
Evidence-based literacy support rooted in the Science of Reading to build confidence and skills in reading all summer long.

🌎 Oh, the Places You’ll Go
A social communication program designed to help children practice real-world skills through guided experiences, mock social events, and community outings.

🍓 Food Exploration Program
A hands-on program combining food discovery, play, and sensory exploration—perfect for children learning to feel more confident around new foods.

**Just a reminder we offer direct billing for most private insurance companies and accept OAP Funding for all programs.

Our goal isnt just to help kids learn to read- its to help them love reading.

Happy National SLP Day from your flock at Speech Hens! 🩵❤️

Today we’re celebrating the incredible speech-language pathologists who help our community find their voice, build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, support safe feeding and swallowing, and create meaningful connections every day.

Behind every milestone is compassion, creativity, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart (and probably coffee ☕😉). We are endlessly grateful for our amazing team and the families who trust us to walk alongside them.

❤️🗨Access Changes Everything- and in a rural community like ours, that message is why we started Speech Hens.

For families in Norfolk County, access to speech, language, literacy, and swallowing/feeding support shouldn’t mean long drives, long waitlists, or going without services altogether.

Every child, adult, and family deserves support close to their community.

❤️❤️At Speech Hens, it has always been our mission to bring Norfolk County access to the services our community deserves!
💛 We have no waitlist- because we know earlier intervention is key!
🩵 We have contracts with 5 local organizations to reach more people who need essential care
💙 We have team members that are skilled in many different areas (from preschool speech to adult swallowing and beyond!) so quality care is a phone call away!
❤️ We have provided access at our clinic for OT and Psychoeducational consultants for families
💜 We can virtual care all over Ontario because everyone deserves access to services!

More than just a food program...

Our Food Exploration Program is led by a pediatric feeding therapist and a homestead farmer....combining evidence-based feeding support with real-life experiences on the farm.

Kids don’t just eat food here… they touch it, grow it, harvest it, cook with it, play with it, and explore it in a safe, pressure-free environment.

Because food exploration looks different for every child- especially for picky eaters, kids with sensory differences, or ARFID.

This program is about building confidence, curiosity, and positive experiences with food… one small step at a time.

🌽🍓 FOOD EXPLORATION PROGRAM IS BACK THIS SUMMER! 🥕🐓

We are so excited to bring back our Food Exploration Program this summer at Generations Marketplace- where learning, play, and food discovery come together on the farm! ☀️🚜

This program is perfect for:
✨ Picky eaters
✨ Children with ARFID
✨ Kids who are hesitant around new foods
✨ AND kiddos who simply LOVE food and hands-on experiences!

Through guided food exploration, sensory experiences, and farm-based fun, children will have opportunities to:
🌱 Explore foods in a low-pressure environment
🍅 Build confidence around trying and interacting with foods
🐐 Connect food to real-life experiences on the farm
🧺 Learn through play, discovery, and curiosity

From fresh produce to fun sensory activities, every session is designed to help kids feel comfortable, confident, and excited about food...all while enjoying the magic of summer on the farm! 🌞
