The Wit’suwit’en Child and Family Centre identified a need for additional support to help families access essential health, developmental, and educational services during the early years. Guided by our mission of building healthier families for a healthier tomorrow, this role supports families through collaboration, advocacy, and culturally respectful connections to services that promote healthy d
evelopment and well-being. Our goals are to build strong, trusting relationships with Indigenous families, support culturally safe and welcoming early years environments, and promote the holistic development and well-being of Indigenous children. Through collaboration with community partners and a commitment to ongoing learning and reflection, we work to create coordinated, respectful, and effective supports for families. Transportation support is available for families who do not have access to a vehicle. This includes assistance getting to and from medical appointments, early learning programs, school meetings, community services, and other essential supports. Similar to community-based outreach models such as CCRR, this service helps reduce barriers, improve access to care, and ensure families can participate fully in programs that support their child’s health, development, and education. Transportation support is coordinated in collaboration with families and community partners, based on availability and need.
