Sometimes an ending hurts so deeply because the love was real.
Not every relationship that ends was fake.
Not every person who walks away never mattered.
And not every ending needs someone to become the villain.
Sometimes you can genuinely love someone and still reach a place where the relationship can no longer continue as it was.
And yes — that hurts.
You can miss someone and still choose not to reach for them.
You can be disappointed by how something ended without rewriting everything that came before it.
And sometimes, with a little distance, you begin to see the patterns.
The same wounds showing up in different relationships.
The same conflicts wearing different faces.
The same cycles repeating until someone is willing to see them.
And maybe that’s part of the lesson too.
We aren’t responsible for breaking patterns that don’t belong to us.
We can have compassion for why someone is the way they are without continually accepting the impact of how they choose to move through the world.
And we can be brave enough to look at our own patterns too — where we stayed too long, overgave, ignored what we knew, or kept hoping love alone would change something.
That’s not bitterness.
That’s discernment.
Sometimes healing sounds more like:
I loved you.
I was hurt.
I see things differently now.
And I can still choose peace.
There is strength in allowing something to end without needing to destroy what it once meant.
No war.
No proving.
No convincing anyone of your side.
Just the quiet understanding that some chapters can matter deeply and still be finished.
Maybe someone else needs to hear this today.
Maybe I needed to hear it too. ❤️
I can honour what was, recognize what it taught me, and keep moving forward.
I can carry the lesson without carrying the hurt forever. 🌿
