We skipped the grand opening. We were too busy building. Five years later, consider this our better-late-than-never moment.

The Horizon Open House is our first-ever event, and it's for everyone. The members who've been with us from day one, the friends and family who've been curious, and the faces we haven't met yet.

Think less sales pitch, more block party. Music, food, drinks, prizes, giveaways, and a team that actually wants to meet you. Come tour the space, learn what we do, and just hang out. No pressure. No awkward pitch. Just good energy and an open door.

Meet James Johnson, RMT, and his colleague, Bob. 🐾

James brings a rare combination of clinical depth, fitness expertise, and a genuine passion for education to the HKC team. With experience working alongside physicians, physiotherapists, and chiropractors in high-performance sports medicine environments, he takes a full-picture, evidence-informed approach to every client he works with. He doesn't just treat what's in front of him — he looks at how everything connects.

With a background in fitness and health promotion, a psychology degree in progress, and years of experience teaching at the college level, James brings a whole-person approach that goes well beyond the treatment table. Whether you're an athlete working through an injury, managing chronic tension, or just trying to take better care of yourself, James meets you where you're at.

Bob will be accompanying James at the clinic as guide dog. We have a feeling he's going to be the most popular member of the team. 🐾🖤

We are so excited to welcome Samantha Callan to our growing team at Horizon!

Samantha brings a strong foundation in fitness and performance, with a Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion from Algonquin College, along with ISSA and Precision Nutrition certifications.

With a background as a competitive gymnast and current bodybuilding competitor (Canadian Physique Alliance and IFBB), she brings a unique perspective on strength, discipline, and goal setting.

Samantha is passionate about helping clients build strength, confidence, and sustainable habits that support long-term health and wellness. While she brings a high level of dedication to her own training, she is equally committed to creating a supportive, down-to-earth environment where clients of all levels feel comfortable and motivated.

She works with a wide range of clients and goals, including strength development, general fitness, and overall conditioning. Her sessions are individualized and intentional, designed to meet each client where they’re at.

Samantha placed 3rd in the Bikini division, qualifying for Nationals where she went on to place 8th in 2025. She is currently training to compete in both the Fitness and Bikini categories for the 2026 season. Outside of training, Samantha values family time and staying active year-round through boating, sea-dooing, and snowmobiling reflecting her belief that fitness should enhance everyday life.
