Last week, we had the privilege of delivering our Recovery Course Foundations course in Cranbrook, BC, hosted by EHN Health Network.

The reflection shared in today's post came directly from one of the conversations during the course, and is one that has stayed with us.

Thank you to everyone who participated, shared your perspectives, and contributed to such meaningful conversations. We'd also like to thank EHN Health Network for hosting us and helping make this opportunity possible.

We're grateful to be part of a growing community of recovery coaches committed to learning, connection, and supporting others. We look forward to continuing that journey together. 🩵

Thirty-five years ago today, on July 22, Kevin Diakiw began his recovery journey through abstinence from alcohol and other mood-altering substances.

Like so many recovery journeys, his was supported in many ways: peer-based recovery, therapy, mindfulness, meditation retreats, spirituality, and athletics. There are many pathways to initiating and sustaining recovery, and Kevin’s story is a reminder that hope can take many forms.

The name Still Here has been part of that journey for years. It began as a mindfulness company in 2017, inspired by the concept Be Still. Be Here. Then, in 2020, it evolved into recovery coaching and training. As our mission grew, we realized the name carried an even deeper meaning.

Still Here.

Still here after addiction.
Still here after loss.
Still here, finding recovery.
Still here believing that hope is possible.

Having lost both his father and his brother to addiction, Kevin knows firsthand the devastation addiction can leave behind. It is also why he has dedicated his life to helping others find recovery, and to preparing recovery coaches to walk alongside people with compassion, dignity, and hope.

Congratulations, Kevin, on 35 years of continuous recovery. Your life reminds us that recovery isn’t just about surviving. It’s about staying, serving, and helping others discover that they, too, can be...

Still Here.

Thank you for reminding us that recovery can mean many things and take many forms.

For some, recovery begins with hope. For others, it begins with exhaustion, loss, or simply the quiet realization that life can be different.

Whatever the path, it often starts with a small voice in the mind or heart whispering…there has to be more than this.

Recovery coaching isn't just about knowing what to say. It's about knowing how to show up when the answers aren't always clear.

Every conversation, every boundary, and every decision has the potential to impact another person's recovery journey. A strong ethical foundation helps us navigate those moments with confidence, professionalism, and care.

Join us July 24-25, 2026 for our Ethical Considerations course, delivered live online from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM PST.

Together, we'll explore real-world scenarios, professional boundaries, accountability, and ethical decision-making in a supportive, engaging learning environment designed specifically for recovery coaches.

This course is required for:
• ARCC
• RCP
• SHE RECOVERS

💻 Course Fee: $355
📘 Manual: $45 (ordered separately)

If you're ready to strengthen your practice and continue growing as a recovery coach, we'd love to have you join us. Contact us at [email protected] or visit our website to get started.

We often think mindfulness means feeling calm.

But mindfulness isn’t about changing what’s happening.

It’s about noticing what’s happening.

When we become more aware, we create space for choice, compassion, and growth.
