I see this ALL the time.

People come to me exhausted, overwhelmed, unable to sleep, carrying tension in their bodies, struggling with digestion, hormones, energy or anxiety.

And yet many of them will tell me:

“But I handle stress really well.”

Do you?

Or have you simply become really good at functioning under stress?

There is a difference.

I see people who have spent years achieving, producing, caregiving, solving problems, pushing through and holding everything together.

They are incredibly capable.

But their body is telling a different story.

And because they can still function, they assume they are fine.

High functioning does not necessarily mean well regulated.

Sometimes what we celebrate as incredible work ethic is partly a nervous system that has learned to keep moving.

A quick check in with yourself:

How many of these sound familiar?

☐ I have a hard time sitting still without feeling like I should be doing something.

☐ I feel guilty when I rest.

☐ My mind keeps working long after my workday is over.

☐ I regularly carry tension in my jaw, neck, shoulders or body.

☐ I am exhausted, but slowing down actually feels uncomfortable.

☐ I tend to push through hunger, fatigue or other signals from my body.

☐ I feel most valuable when I am accomplishing, helping or producing.

☐ I consider myself “good under pressure,” but I rarely experience genuine rest.

If several of those made you stop and think, ask yourself this:

Has stress become so normal that I no longer recognize it as stress?

This doesn't mean ambition is unhealthy. Hard work isn't the problem.

The question is what is driving it?

Are you working from purpose or pressure?

Are you able to work hard and rest well?

Can you be still without feeling guilty?

This is one of the reasons I believe we have to stop looking at health in isolated pieces.

The body matters.
The mind matters.
The nervous system matters.
And the spirit matters.

God did not design our bodies for endless striving. Scripture gives us rhythms of both work and rest.

Rest is not laziness. Rest is stewardship too.

This is exactly the kind of connection we explore inside The Foundations.

Reset the Body.
Renew the Mind.
Realign the Spirit.

The next Foundations group begins September 15.

LET’S FLIP THE WAY WE THINK ABOUT OUR BODIES UPSIDE DOWN. 🙃

We’ve confused BODY IMAGE with BODY STEWARDSHIP.

We spend so much time focused on what our bodies LOOK like.

Weight. Shape. Muscles. Wrinkles. The reflection in the mirror.

But what if the better question is:

How well am I caring for what God has entrusted to me?

Because a body can look great on the outside while things are quietly becoming dysfunctional on the inside.

Appearance is NOT proof of health.

In 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, Paul reminds us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, that we are “not our own,” and that we are to glorify God in our bodies.

Context matters. Paul was addressing sexual immorality, not teaching nutrition or exercise.

But the underlying truth is important:

OUR BODIES BELONG TO GOD.

And that changes how we think about caring for them.

Not worshipping the body.
Not obsessing over appearance.
Not neglecting it either.

STEWARDING IT.

That means FOOD matters.

Food is fuel. What we repeatedly put into our bodies matters. Nourishing ourselves with real, nutrient rich food gives the body the building blocks it needs to function.

MOVEMENT matters.

1 Timothy 4:8 tells us bodily training has value, while rightly placing godliness above it.

Exercise isn't just about looking good.

Strength. Mobility. Endurance. Movement.

We want bodies capable of carrying us through the work, relationships, service and calling God has given us.

And REST matters.

Sleep. Recovery. Stress. Listening when your body is telling you something needs attention.

Scripture doesn't give us a modern wellness program.

But it DOES give us a theology of the body.

So maybe the question isn't:

“How does my body look?”

Maybe it's:

“How faithfully am I stewarding the body God entrusted to me?”

Nourish it.
Move it.
Strengthen it.
Rest it.
Care for it.

Not because you worship your body.

But because you worship the One to whom it belongs.

THIS is what we talk about inside THE FOUNDATIONS.

Body. Mind. Spirit.

We connect the dots and get back to the foundations of how God designed us.

Registration is OPEN.

Message me “FOUNDATIONS” for details.

If you’ve been doing all the things and still feel like something is missing, this is for you.

The Foundations is a 5-week whole-person health experience designed to help you connect the dots between your physical health, nervous system, thought patterns, and spiritual life.

Because your health is not just about one symptom.
It is not just about food.
It is not just about stress.
And it is not just about faith.

It is about understanding how all of those pieces work together.

Over five weeks, we will focus on three key areas:

Reset the Body.
Renew the Mind.
Realign the Spirit.

My goal is to help you stop guessing, understand what may be keeping you stuck, and build a stronger foundation for lasting change.

If you are ready to understand your body differently and begin moving forward with more clarity, stability, and confidence, The Foundations may be exactly where you need to begin.

The next group begins September 15

I thought my life was being disrupted.

Now I wonder if God was planting me.

Another post inspired by the annoited Natalie Breckenridge 💗 who posts very thoughtful and spiritually ✨️ transparent posts that offer deep wisdom that always get me in the deepest parts of me.

And so..this past year has not looked anything like I expected.

There have been things I thought would grow that didn’t.

Doors I thought would open that stayed closed.

Things I worked hard to build that suddenly didn’t seem to fit anymore.

Relationships changed.

My work changed.

My faith changed.

I changed.

And there were moments when I wondered...

God, what are You doing?

But lately, I keep coming back to Isaiah 61.

“They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

A planting of the Lord.

That hits differently now.

Because maybe some of what I called loss was actually pruning.

Maybe some of what I called waiting was actually rooting.

And maybe some of what felt like being held back was actually development.

Hebrews talks about this.

There comes a point when we are supposed to move beyond milk and become mature, learning through practice to discern what is good.

And this year has been built in the ditches and has brought GOLD

That kind of maturity doesn't happen overnight.

It is developed.

And I can see now that God hasn't simply been changing my circumstances.

He has been developing me.

Developing my discernment.

Developing my obedience.

Developing my capacity.

Developing my character.

Developing a faith that doesn't disappear when life doesn't make sense.

I spent so much of my life running.

Running from pain.

Running from my past.

Running toward things I thought would make me whole.

And then God stopped me.

He began teaching me how to stay.

How to trust.

How to surrender.

How to obey when I couldn't see the outcome.

How to let Him establish me instead of constantly trying to establish myself.

And perhaps that is what the hidden places are for.

Roots grow where nobody can see them.

Development happens long before anyone sees the fruit.

Hebrews 12 says that God's training may not feel pleasant while we're walking through it, but afterward it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace in those who have been trained by it.

Trained by it.

That phrase means something completely different to me now.

Because I don't just want God to get me OUT of difficult places.

I want Him to develop something IN me while I'm there.

So I'm not calling this “just a season” anymore.

I think I've been planted.

I think I've been trained.

I think I've been developed.

And I believe God has been growing roots strong enough to carry what comes next.

Maybe He is doing the same in you.

Maybe you're not behind.

Maybe you're being developed.

Maybe the hidden work is the most important work God is doing right now.

“The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”
1 Thessalonians 5:24

I don't know exactly what the next chapter looks like.

But I know I'm not the same person who entered this one.

My roots are deeper.

My faith is stronger.

And I'm still growing. 🌳

So GRATEFUL 🙏

THE FOUNDATIONS ✨
What if the symptoms you’ve been chasing aren’t separate problems?
What if your gut, your stress response, your hormones, your emotions, your energy, your history and your spiritual life are all telling pieces of the same story?
For years, I’ve watched people try to heal one piece at a time.
Fix the gut.
Balance the hormones.
Calm the anxiety.
Take another supplement.
Try another diet.
Pray harder.
Push through.
But we were never designed in pieces.
We are spirit, mind and body, beautifully interconnected.
That is why I created THE FOUNDATIONS.
Beginning September 15th, I’m opening the doors to this 5 week masterclass where we are going to slow things down, connect the dots and begin looking at what may actually be happening underneath the symptoms.
We’ll explore:
✨ The gut and its connection to the brain and nervous system
✨ Stress, trauma and the body’s protective responses
✨ Food, inflammation, hormones and energy
✨ Identity, thought patterns and emotional health
✨ Faith and what it means to care for the whole person
✨ Practical tools you can begin using in your everyday life
This isn’t about becoming obsessed with your health.
It’s about understanding your body differently.
It’s about getting back to the foundations.
And if you’re not ready to join me yet, I have something for you. ❤️
I’ve created a FREE DOWNLOAD to help you begin connecting the pieces.

I’M PROBABLY NOT WHAT YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU HEAR “DOCTOR.”

And that’s intentional.

For a long time, we’ve been conditioned to think healthcare looks like this:

You don’t feel well.

You make an appointment.

You explain what’s wrong.

Someone tells you what to do.

You leave.

And you come back when something else goes wrong.

But what if there’s another way to approach your health?

When someone comes to work with me, I’m not only interested in the symptom that brought them through the door.

I want to know the story around it.

What is happening in your gut?

How are you sleeping?

What does your stress load look like?

What is your nervous system doing?

What are you eating?

What has your body been exposed to?

What patterns keep repeating?

What have you lived through?

What do you believe about yourself, your body and healing?

Where does faith fit into all of this?

Because sometimes the thing screaming the loudest isn’t where the story began.

That’s why I connect the dots.

Gut health.

Nervous system.

Trauma.

Mind.

Environment.

Lifestyle.

Faith.

The goal isn’t for you to become dependent on me.

The goal is for you to become more informed, more curious and more engaged in your own health.

I test.

I teach.

I ask questions.

I help you look for patterns.

And together, we start connecting pieces that may have been looked at separately for years.

This is the direction of the new Take Back Your Health.

Not just appointments.

Education.

Understanding.

Tools.

Community.

And a foundation you can actually build from.

Because maybe you don’t need another disconnected piece.

Maybe it’s time to see the whole picture.

Connect the dots. Then build the foundation.

WHAT IS YOUR TERRAIN?

Imagine a fish living in a dirty fishbowl.

The fish becomes sick.

You take the fish out, treat it, and then place it right back into the same water.

We would immediately ask:

But what about the water?

That question sits at the heart of so much of the work I do.

I call it your terrain.

And when I talk about terrain, I am not talking only about what is happening physically.

I am talking about the environment of the whole person: spirit, soul and body.

Because you are not a collection of disconnected symptoms.

Your gut matters.

Your nutrient status matters.

Your hormones, sleep, blood sugar, movement and environmental exposures matter.

Your nervous system matters.

But so do your thoughts.

Your emotional patterns.

The stress you have been carrying.

The experiences that shaped how your body learned to respond to the world.

And your spiritual life matters too.

Your relationship with God.

Your identity.

Your faith.

Your sense of purpose and connection.

This is why my work has increasingly become about connecting the dots.

When I test someone, I don't want to simply know where something appears to be out of balance.

I want us to begin asking:

What is happening in the terrain?

What does the body need?

What has the soul been carrying?

What is happening in the nervous system?

Where might there be nutritional or physiological needs worth investigating?

What patterns have become normal simply because you've lived with them for so long?

And where is God in the middle of all of this?

This isn't about blaming your thoughts, your trauma or your faith for illness.

And it isn't about replacing appropriate medical care.

It is about refusing to reduce a whole human being to one symptom.

Spirit. Soul. Body.

This is the terrain.

And sometimes the next step isn't simply chasing another symptom.

Sometimes we need to start looking at the water.

That is where we begin connecting the dots.

✨ SIX MONTHS IN THE MAKING. 18 MONTHS OF GOD SHIFTING EVERYTHING. AND IT’S FINALLY HERE. 🙏

Today, I get to share something that means so much more to me than a new website.

The new Take Back Your Health is LIVE.

And when I look at it, I don't just see pages, programs, or pretty graphics.

I see obedience.

I see the last 18 months of God shifting my identity, refining my calling, stretching my faith, and showing me how all the pieces of my life and work were always meant to connect.

Faith.
Gut health.
The nervous system.
Trauma.
Identity.
Healing.

For years, I have been gathering pieces.

Learning. Studying. Teaching. Walking through my own healing. Sitting with people in theirs.

And somewhere along the way, God began showing me the dots.

Now I get to connect them.

That is the heart behind this next chapter and behind The Dot to Dot Dr.

Because sometimes the symptom isn't the whole story.

Sometimes the gut is talking to the brain.

Sometimes the nervous system is responding to something the mind has long forgotten.

Sometimes what looks physical has emotional, relational, environmental, or spiritual pieces that have never been connected.

And sometimes healing begins when someone finally helps you see the whole picture.

That is where Take Back Your Health is going.

And I cannot adequately express how grateful I am to finally share it with you.

There is SO much coming.

THE FOUNDATIONS opens again September 15th, where we begin connecting those dots together.

Consultations are now available to book through the website.

My new FREE webinar is coming and will be offered monthly.

New teaching. New conversations. New resources. New ways to work together.

And some pretty big things are already shaking and moving behind the scenes. 👀

This isn't simply a rebrand.

It feels like an arrival.

A coming together of who I have been, what I have walked through, what God has taught me, and who He is calling me to become.

So today, I'm simply saying:

Welcome to the new Take Back Your Health.

Come look around.

And stay close.

Because we're just getting started. ❤️
