Let’s talk belly fat - the kind that creeps on around the midlife middle...

The “calories in, calories out” model was never built for a peri/menopausal body. And if nobody has explained why, here’s just one part of it:

As estrogen drops, your muscles and liver stop don’t respond to insulin as well as they used to. Your pancreas compensates by pumping out more.

And that extra insulin doesn’t help you burn fuel — it signals your body to store it...as VISCERAL fat around your organs.

That fat isn’t passive - It’s inflammatory! It drives a loop of more belly fat, more insulin resistance, more cellular damage.

Buying SPF 100? Save your money! 💸

Protection tops out around SPF 70 — anything above that isn’t doing much more for you. I’m a minimum SPF 50 myself, and honestly with Scottish, English, Irish, Austrian skin in the mix... oof. I really need it.

I also get moles that need to come off sometimes, so I don’t mess around with this stuff. If you’re prone to that too — please get checked. Regularly.

Sunscreen every day. Skin checks when you need them. Take care of that skin!

Quick sunscreen thing nobody really talks about — early morning and late in the day? Those rays are still doing damage. The angle of the sun catches a lot of people off guard because it doesn’t feel as intense. But if you’re sensitive like me... little flower, put your sunscreen on.

Morning, evening, not just midday. All day if you’re out there.

If you’re lifting three times a week, eating lots of protein, on HRT…but you’re not gaining muscle and your bone density is worrisome, this may be for you.

A lot of women were taught to eat frequently to “keep metabolism up.”

This makes no sense for the peri/menopausal woman.

That pattern can backfire & work AGAINST blood sugar stability and fat burning.

That is why so many high-functioning women feel like they are doing everything right and still not getting the results they want.

Morning protein doesn’t have to be a chalky nightmare.

Whey isolate fully dissolved into a latte — vanilla extract, a touch of monk fruit, and a milk frother can do all heavy lifting! No chunks, no grit, no choking it down.

Protein first thing matters more than most women realize — especially in perimenopause and beyond, when we want to start the day with protein and muscle becomes one of our most important assets.
