If you’ve been told to “drink more water and eat more fibre” and it’s not working…
(hello, welcome 👋 I was told the same thing!)
—you’re not broken. There’s just so much more to the story ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Constipation is the most common thing I see in practice—by far.
It’s also one of the first things I work on with clients… because it’s such a foundational piece, and so much builds from here.
Without daily, predictable bowel movements, we often see symptoms that show up in everyday life:
👎 fatigue
👎 sluggishness
👎 low mood
👎 acne
👎 sluggish metabolism
👎 lack of motivation
👎 chronic bloating
👎 abdominal pain
👎 brain fog / poor concentration
👎 hormonal symptoms / PMS
(and more!)
But here’s where people get stuck:
Chronic constipation is rarely one thing—it’s usually a combination of factors like mineral imbalances, gut dysbiosis, sluggish thyroid, bile flow, and chronic stress.
There’s also often an emotional layer. A lot of people dealing with this have a hard time letting things go—
and the body can mirror that pattern physically.
Another big piece is predictability and safety in daily life. Our bowel movements are influenced by food and hydration, yes—but also by sleep (our circadian rhythm) and stress.
Regular meals, consistent sleep and wake times, slowing down, and creating a sense of safety in the body all matter here.
And adding more fibre too soon can often be counterproductive.
It’s not usually where I start.
We need to get things moving first—then build from there!!
