Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a big difference.

Maybe it’s having someone help prepare a meal. 🍲
Maybe it’s getting help with a few household tasks. 🏡
Maybe it’s assistance getting ready for the day.
Maybe it’s a ride to an appointment. 🚗
Or maybe it’s simply having someone stop in for a friendly visit. 💙

🏡 WHAT DOES A HOME SUPPORT WORKER DO?

When you hear “home support,” you might picture someone helping with a few household chores.

But our Home Support Workers do so much more. ❤️

At Upper Nashwaak Community Outreach, our staff provide practical, compassionate support that helps seniors and individuals maintain their independence, dignity and quality of life right where they call home.

Here are just some of the ways our Home Support Workers can help:

🍽️ Meal preparation
🧁 Light baking
🧹 Light housekeeping & cleaning
🛁 Assistance with bathing
👕 Assistance with dressing
🍴 Assistance with feeding
🚽 Assistance with toileting
💊 Medication supervision
🚗 Transportation & community support
💙 Companionship

Sometimes it’s helping someone get ready for their day.

Sometimes it’s preparing a meal, making the bed, or helping with personal care.

Sometimes it’s a ride to an appointment.

And sometimes, it’s simply sitting down for a visit and making sure someone doesn’t feel alone.

Every visit looks a little different because every person we support is different.

Our goal is simple: to help people remain as independent as possible, in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes. 🏡

And behind every one of those services is a caring Home Support Worker showing up with patience, kindness and compassion.

That’s home support.
That’s community care.

💙 Completed 1,241 home care shifts
🍽️ Delivered 237 meals through Meals on Wheels

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a community member who received a little extra support when they needed it.

Our amazing staff continue to show up every day — providing care, delivering meals, lending a helping hand, and supporting seniors right here at home. ❤️

We’re proud of the work our team does and grateful for everyone who helps make our community stronger.
