Nashwaak Villa was incredibly lucky 🍀 to have an amazing group of students with us for the summer.

Allyson, Sabina, Lauren and Ava led the intergenerational camp programs with our residents and the community youth. Meanwhile, Lucy, Ashton, Abigale and Madison were working hard with seniors in the community with the Nursing Homes Without Walls program.

Great things were accomplished this summer and we’re incredibly proud of the hard work these students put in.

Credit also goes to Jeannine and Emily who willingly took on the supervision of 4 additional team members each. They worked hard to make sure the students understood their assignments, knew where to be and when, and had all the support they needed.

We are more than a little sad to say goodbye to our last summer student today. 😢 Thank you all for making summer so wonderful!

This week, one of our residents and a young member of our community sat down together for a little chat about life — sharing stories, listening, laughing, and learning from one another.

Because sometimes the best connections happen when we simply take the time to sit, talk, and enjoy each other’s company.

Different generations. Different stories. One beautiful connection. 💙

Thank you & Update on Callie & PJ
We are so grateful for the generosity of our community in supporting our beloved Villa cats, PJ and Callie!!
Thanks to the kindness of our community, we have received $540 so far toward PJ’s veterinary care. We are incredibly thankful to everyone who has helped support him.
We’re happy to report that PJ is safely back home at the Villa and is now on a treatment regimen to support his health as a kitty with diabetes. He is also (not so willingly! 😹) taking his antibiotics to treat a UTI.
We are still accepting donations through the Nashwaak Villa Foundation to support PJ and cover his vet bills. Donations are gratefully accepted by e-transfer to [email protected] or in person at our front office. If sending an e-transfer, please specify “cat needs” in the memo box.

Our beloved nursing home, cats, PJ and Callie, urgently need your help. For the past 11 years PJ and Callie have been part of the Nashwaak Villa family. They bring comfort, smiles, and a true sense of companionship for our residents. PJ has recently developed health concerns at require ongoing medication and veterinary care, and the cost are more than we can manage without support from our caring community. If you are able to give, any donation, no matter the size, will make an immediate difference in helping us to provide the care they need right now and ongoing . Thank you for opening your heart and helping us keep PJ and Callie healthy, comfortable, and by a residents' side where they belong.
