Health Canada is accepting public feedback on its proposed Natural Health Product Compounding Policy and Raw Material Policy right now — and your voice matters.

These policies will shape what herbal practitioners in Canada are legally permitted to do. They affect:

🌿 How your herbalist prepares your remedies
🌿 Whether high-quality, practitioner-grade herbs remain accessible
🌿 Whether individualized herbal care survives as a clinical practice in this country

Here's what you can do RIGHT NOW:

Tell them:
— You support herbalists' right to dispense single-herb preparations as compounded products
— You support herbalists' right to compound according to clinical judgment, not commercial product availability
— You want Health Canada to recognize and protect the practice of herbal compounding

You don't need to be an expert. You just need to show up. A few sentences from a patient, a community member, or someone who has experienced the difference that individualized herbal care makes — that counts.

You might be wondering: is anyone pushing back on this?

Yes. We are.

The Alberta Herbalists Association (AHA) is a proud member of the Canadian Council of Herbalist Associations (CCHA) — the national umbrella organization representing professional herbalist associations across Canada. Together, we have:

✅ Reviewed both proposed NNHPD policy documents in detail
✅ Submitted a formal response letter to Health Canada identifying critical concerns and requesting specific changes
✅ Submitted an addendum to that letter strengthening our position on the four most serious issues
✅ Requested a direct meeting with the Director General of the NNHPD to discuss our concerns before the policies are finalized
✅ Engaged our provincial member associations in reviewing and endorsing our response

Our positions are clear: herbal practitioners must retain the right to dispense simples, to reconstitute preparations, to compound according to clinical judgment — not commercial product availability — and to import raw materials without being required to pre-justify their clinical decisions to federal regulators.

We are not asking for exemptions. We are asking for accurate recognition of what herbal compounding practice actually is.

And we need your voice alongside ours.

With regular massages, the body appears smoother and more relaxed, with muscles looking supple, evenly toned, and less rigid across the back and shoulders.
The tissue seems well-circulated, giving the muscles a healthier, more balanced contour and reducing the appearance of tightness or strain.
In contrast, without regular massage, the muscles can look tighter and more congested, with visible tension around the shoulders, lower back, and hips.
The tissue may appear denser and less flexible, emphasizing areas where stiffness and restricted movement build up over time.
Overall, consistent massage contributes to a more fluid, aligned appearance, while the absence of it can leave the body looking tense and compacted.

Hello everyone! It has been a while since I posted anything and I am proud to announce I have FINALLY completed the 4 year herbalist diploma program offered through Pacific Rim College of British Columbia and have received my Diploma of Phytotherapy.

Appointments are available Monday to Thursday from 6:30am to 6:00pm (appointment start times) and Friday from 6:30am to 3:30pm.
