🌕✨ THE STURGEON MOON — THE FINAL ECLIPSE OF THE SEASON ✨🌕
Tonight, the sky gives us something incredibly powerful: a Full Moon in Pisces, the Sturgeon Moon, accompanied by a Lunar Eclipse.
And for those of us here in Northern Alberta, the eclipse will begin around 9:12 PM and reach its peak around 10:12 PM. 🌕🌑
This Lunar Eclipse also brings us to the end of this eclipse season, making tonight feel like a beautiful threshold between what has been and what is waiting to unfold.
🌊 The Sturgeon Moon
August’s Full Moon is traditionally called the Sturgeon Moon, named for the great lake sturgeon that were plentiful during this season in the Great Lakes region.
Other traditional names for this Moon are connected to the changing land and approaching harvest, reminding us that our ancestors watched the Moon, plants, animals and seasons to mark the passing of time.
The Sturgeon Moon has come to symbolize abundance, perseverance, survival, gratitude and harvest.
♓ The Pisces Full Moon
Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac—the dreamer, the intuitive and the mystic.
Its watery energy invites us inward.
To feel.
To forgive.
To listen.
To surrender.
And to finally release what we know we cannot carry into the next season.
🌑 The Folklore & Magic of an Eclipse
For centuries, eclipses have been surrounded by folklore. Many ancient cultures viewed them as powerful interruptions in the natural order—a time when the familiar light of the Moon temporarily disappeared into shadow.

Watch as her light changes.

The Sturgeon Moon rises.
The eclipse season closes.
The harvest approaches.
And another chapter comes to an end.
