Nicholas Yorgason has teamed up with Clinton McAllister to create the Junior Golf Academy here in Stettler! The purpose of this Academy is to facilitate junior golfers in taking their golf game to the next level. We want to identify talent and help guide them on what it means to play competitive junior golf.

The Academy will commence as soon as we have 6 junior golfers signed up. Hopefully things will kick off mid April 2026. The age range is going to be 14-18 years old. Any skill level is accepted, you only need to be interested in taking your game to the next level.

Nicholas Yorgason is going to be responsible for the golf fitness portion. Your golf swing starts in the gym and we will have your body prepped for the changes Clinton is going to be asking you to make. The fitness portion includes a golf fitness assessment, 4 weeks of group training and a re-evaluation.

Clinton McAllister will be heading up the golf lessons/skills portion. He will be offering lessons in two capacities. 1. Small group (no more than 3 individuals) or 1 on 1 private lessons. The lessons will be broken into swing assessment, technical drills and home golf drills to complete.

Summarized details below:

1. Commencement: April 2026 - as soon as 6 junior golfers sign up.
2. 4 weeks of Golf Fitness and Golf Skill Instruction
3. Coaches: Nicholas Yorgason and Clinton McAllister
4. Age Range: 14-18 years old
5. Total Investment: $250 with golf fitness and small group training. (Price will vary if 1 on 1 training is preferred or added sessions beyond 2x per week).

Few spots left up for grabs to get yourself ready for the golf season!

These are the details of the program:

During the month of February all Golf Assessment will be performed prior to the kick off of the program. The assessment costs $150. Nick will be performing these from the clinic, scheduling is based on your convenience. This determines mobility or strength concerns that may be impacting your swing. We develop a program based on this to help correct the findings. Calder will be doing a swing assessment to help guide your structured lesson plan. This is billable to your extended health care plan.

Commencing the first Saturday in March and running until April are the group Training and Golf Lessons $450:

3 group training sessions, performed at Thrive every other Saturday, going through the most popular findings from the assessment. Helps ensure accountability to the process.

Calder's portion will be performed from the Red Deer Golf and Country Club at their training studio. These will be on the alternate Saturday's to the training program.

Once the program is complete Calder will be performing a follow up swing assessment to monitor your progress!

Swell Physio has teamed up with PGA pro Calder Sutton to help you get ready for the golf season. This program is geared towards improving your golf fitness as well as your golf skills.

The program is going to include a head to toe golf mobility and strength assessment. After the assessment you will receive an individualized exercise program you can complete at home to help improve your golf game.

There will also be 3 group training sessions to improve accountability to your exercise program. As well as 3 group lessons with Calder to help improve your game.

Swell Physio has been open for 1 year!

Since opening its doors on December 11th, 2023, 441 people have entrusted us with their health and wellness goals. To all of you, we thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your health. Thank you for being a part of our journey as a small business in Alberta. Thank you for supporting us and helping our dreams come true.

Happy fall everyone!

We have some exciting updates for Swell Physio. For those that don’t know, we are fast approaching welcoming a new addition to our family. As of Thanksgiving, Chelsey will be commencing her maternity leave.

This means you will be seeing more of Nick around the clinic! The new schedule for Nick is as follows:

Monday 12pm - 8pm
Tuesday 9am - 4pm
Wednesday 12pm - 8pm
Thursday 9am - 4pm

We will keep you posted when Chelsey is ready to return to the clinic. Until then, Nick is happy to look after everyone’s Physiotherapy needs.
