What’s your love language? 💛

Sometimes we feel “loved” in very specific ways—and understanding that can completely change how we show up in relationships.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

• Words of Affirmation ✨
Feeling loved through kind words, compliments, encouragement, and “I appreciate you” reminders

• Quality Time 🫶
Feeling loved when someone is fully present with you—no distractions, just real connection

• Acts of Service 🤍
Feeling cared for when someone does thoughtful things to help or support you (even the small stuff)

• Physical Touch 🤍
Feeling safe and connected through hugs, closeness, holding hands, or comforting touch

• Gifts 🎁
Feeling loved through thoughtful gestures that show someone was thinking of you (it’s about meaning, not price)
We don’t all feel love the same way—and that’s kind of the point.

So… what’s yours? 💭

We loved being part of the Stittsville Multicultural Festival this weekend 🌍✨

It was such a joy to connect with members of our community, celebrate the many cultures that make Stittsville so vibrant, and spend time sharing more about who we are and the support we offer at Aura.

We’re grateful to have been part of an event that highlights diversity, connection, and belonging — values that matter deeply to us both in our community and in our work.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello 💛

This dynamic can be deeply painful — not because one person is “too much” and the other is “too little,” but because both people are often trying to protect themselves in opposite ways.

Attachment patterns can shape how we respond to closeness, conflict, reassurance, and space. And when those patterns collide, couples can get pulled into the same cycle again and again.

The good news: once you can name the cycle, you can begin to respond to it differently.

💬 Did this resonate? Save it for later, or send it to someone who’s trying to understand their relationship patterns with more compassion.

Sometimes what we call “intuition” is actually an activated nervous system trying to protect us from rejection, abandonment, or uncertainty.

Anxiety in dating often sounds like:
• “I need to know where we stand right now.”
• “Why are they pulling away?”
• “Maybe if I try harder, they’ll choose me.”

But intuition usually feels different.
It’s calmer. Clearer. Less urgent.

Healing attachment wounds can completely change the way love feels — and even who feels attractive to you. What once felt “boring” may actually be emotional safety. What once felt like “chemistry” may have been inconsistency triggering your nervous system.

You deserve relationships where you don’t have to overanalyze, chase, or abandon yourself to feel chosen.

Which slide hit hardest? 👀

We often describe these things as “just who I am”...

✨ The one who never asks for help.
✨ The one who always keeps the peace.
✨ The one who stays busy all the time.
✨ The one who takes care of everyone else.
✨ The one who never lets anyone get too close.

But sometimes what looks like a personality trait is actually a survival response — a strategy we learned to stay safe, accepted, loved, or avoid getting hurt.

These patterns aren’t flaws. They often developed for very good reasons. The challenge is that what once protected us can sometimes keep us stuck long after the danger has passed.

Healing isn’t about becoming a different person. It’s about understanding where these patterns came from and deciding whether they’re still serving you today. 🤍

Sometimes the reaction isn’t about what’s happening right now.

It’s about what this moment feels like compared to something your nervous system has survived before.

You’re not reacting to a late text.
You’re reacting to the feeling of being forgotten.

You’re not reacting to one disagreement.
You’re reacting to what conflict used to cost you.

You’re not “too sensitive.”
You’ve just learned to scan for disconnection before it arrives.

Attachment wounds have a way of turning the present into proof:
“See? People always leave.”
“See? I’m too much.”
“See? I can’t trust anyone.”

And suddenly you’re spiraling, shutting down, overexplaining, needing reassurance, pulling away, or assuming the worst… not because you’re irrational, but because your nervous system thinks it’s protecting you.

Healing isn’t becoming emotionless.
It’s learning how to separate:
“What is actually happening right now?”
from
“What old wound just got activated?”

That pause changes everything.

Sometimes we confuse familiarity with compatibility.

Attachment wounds can quietly shape who feels attractive, safe, exciting, or impossible to let go of.

Not because something is wrong with you — but because your nervous system learned what love was supposed to feel like long before you had words for it.

Healing often starts when you stop asking:
“Why do I keep choosing this?”

And start asking:
“What does this dynamic feel familiar to?”

Which slide hit you the hardest?
