Here are a few pics of our newest members of the park. Meet Gabe, Fallen and Joshua.
I am personally reforesting the park; with the help of some of our littlest Tenants.
A few years ago Freya was in grade one and she brought us a little spruce tree; well this year her twin siblings are in grade one and they also brought us their little spruce trees. The Freya tree has grown so much and I am excited to watch these little ones grow as well.
Last year I also planted four oak trees (which I propagated). I have a fifty percent survival success rate. Two are growing. They didn’t have names so another little Tenant was watching me plant so he named one after his dad, Joshua (the Joshua tree😂). I think I’ll name the other one after him; Juda.
I hope that one day these trees grow to be mighty fine like the people they were named after.

Does anyone else name their trees?

Kate and Ash will be joining us in the fall. A green ash and a mountain ash have taken up residence in my garden.

Has anyone lost a cat? He’s been hanging out at 173. He’s a beautiful cat. He needs to find his owners though. Please call if you are missing a cat.

Batten down the hatches!!
Basket class is still a go. We will do six people making baskets at a time in the garage attached to the office. The rest can visit and have tea or coffee and treats, then we will alternate.
We will make it work with the "Alberta Storm" that is supposed to hit us tonight,

A couple of ladies here in the Park have decided to make a residents only page for Meridian Meadows.
It’s a page where you can get to know each other, share community events, buy, sell or borrow items. Share your business or your talents with your neighbors. It’s simply a place to ask for help and to build our community. This is a lovely idea. It’s an adjunct to our official Meridian Meadows page.

Last day to register for the hanging basket class on May 14 is tomorrow May 12.

The hanging basket class is scheduled for next Thursday, May 14th. 1pm at the office. Deadline to register is May 12.
We’ve got a lovely crowd gathered! If you are not interested in making a basket please feel free to drop in and have a coffee and treat on us.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the office. Weather permitting we will be outside.

We have been receiving many calls about baby Hares on our Wildlife Helpline so we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone: Find a baby hare? Leave it right there! 🐰

Mother hares always leave their babies alone during the day and return 1–2 times at night to feed them. This helps avoid attracting predators to their nesting spots. If the baby hare appears healthy but is in the middle of your lawn or an unsafe location, like a parking lot, you can gently move it to a safer area, such as under a nearby bush or shrub. It doesn’t need to be a large green space, just a safer spot.
Please do not keep a baby hare or attempt to raise it yourself. They are very easily stressed and frightened, which can often lead to sudden death and require very specific hare formula if they are not receiving mothers milk. They may not look scared, but we promise you, they are, and it can end very badly.

So, if you see a healthy baby hare this season, leave it right there! The mother will come back to care for it, but only at night.

If you find a baby hare with an obvious injury (e.g., blood is present or a leg is broken), please place it in a box with a towel and bring it straight to WILDNorth or an associated emergency clinic so it can receive the necessary medical care.
