There’s something really grounding about Mariah. She’s the kind of person who helps you feel safe enough to finally exhale a little.

Whether you, your teen, or your family member are struggling with anxiety, trauma, addiction, burnout, relationship stress, or just feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to get out of, Mariah brings a calm, compassionate presence that helps people feel understood instead of judged.

Her approach is thoughtful, down to earth, and deeply human. She helps clients make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface while also building practical tools for real life. Not in a “perfect healing journey” kind of way. In a real way. A sustainable way. A way that actually feels possible.

And honestly, so many people are carrying around nervous systems that have been in survival mode for way too long. Sometimes therapy starts with finally having someone sit beside you and help you untangle it all without rushing you.

Mariah offers in person counselling in Stratford and virtual therapy across Ontario.

You do not have to figure everything out alone. 💛

Some people are carrying a lot without anyone realizing it.

They’re still going to work.
Still answering texts.
Still taking care of everyone else.
Still showing up.

But underneath that, they’re exhausted. Overwhelmed. Disconnected from themselves. Running on survival mode and calling it “being busy.”

A lot of people wait until things completely fall apart before reaching out for support.

You do not have to earn help by hitting a breaking point first.

Therapy is not only for crisis. Sometimes it’s simply a place to finally exhale, sort through what’s been building up, and stop carrying everything alone.

If things have felt heavy lately, you’re not weak for feeling it. You’re human. 💛

Sometimes burnout doesn’t look how we think it does…

Sometimes it looks like:
replying to messages while exhausted,
forgetting things because your mind is overloaded,
feeling irritated more easily,
wanting to be alone,
or struggling to feel present even during things you care about.

A lot of people are carrying more than others realize right now.

If you’ve been feeling emotionally tired lately, your nervous system might not be asking you to “try harder.”
It might be asking for rest, support, space, or a moment to breathe. 🌿

You do not have to earn rest by completely falling apart first.

💛

Monday morning can feel like a lot.

The alarm goes off, your brain is already running, and the week ahead feels full before it even begins.

So instead of trying to fix everything or be on top of everything… maybe just start here.

One small moment of gratitude.

Not the big, picture perfect kind. Just something real.

The warmth of your coffee.
A quiet minute before everyone else wakes up.
A message from someone who cares.
The fact that you’re here, trying again.

Gratitude doesn’t erase stress or make life easy. But it softens the edges. It gives your nervous system a place to land, even for a second.

And sometimes, that’s enough to help you take the next step.

You don’t need to have it all figured out today.
Just find one thing that feels okay… and start there.

💛

Meet Steve. 👋

There is something really grounding about sitting with someone who has seen a lot of life and still meets you with calm, patience, and steady care. Steve brings that kind of presence into the room. Whether you are navigating relationship stress, family dynamics, or addiction, he helps you slow things down, make sense of what is happening, and find a way forward that actually feels doable.

You do not have to figure it all out on your own. There is space for you here. 💛

A gentle reminder that all of our therapists at Reclaim & Rise are MSWs and registered social workers, which means your sessions are often covered under your benefits 💛

Most people we work with are able to use their extended health benefits and either have sessions fully or partly reimbursed.

If you have benefits through work or a partner, it’s worth taking a quick look. You can usually find it under something like “Social Worker” or “Registered Social Worker” in your coverage.

If you’re not sure, here’s an easy way to check:

• Log into your benefits portal and search for social worker coverage

• Or call the number on your benefits card and ask if Registered Social Workers are included

• You can also ask about how much is covered per session and your yearly maximum

If you do have coverage, we can provide everything you need for reimbursement.

And if you don’t have benefits, please don’t let that stop you from reaching out. You can email us at [email protected] to ask about our Rise Above Barriers Program. 🙌

We care deeply about making therapy more accessible and helping people get the support they need.

Taking care of your mental health should feel accessible, not overwhelming. You deserve quality care and support, no matter your situation.

You don’t need an hour. You don’t need perfect conditions. And no, you don’t need a yoga mat. You just need a moment (or even just 5 seconds).

Right now, wherever you are, try this:

Inhale slowly through your nose.
Hold for a second…
Exhale gently through your mouth (for just a little longer than you inhaled)

That’s it.

Even a few deep breaths can start to calm your nervous system, lower your heart rate, and signal to your body that you are safe. In a world that keeps pushing you to go faster, do more, and hold everything together, this is a small way to come back to yourself.

Five seconds can shift more than you think.

You don’t have to fix everything today.
Just breathe. ❤️

Sometimes “bloom where you’re planted” gets said like it’s easy. Like you should just be thriving no matter what.

But in honesty … some seasons feel heavy. Really heavy… Some environments don’t feel safe. Sometimes you’re just trying to get through the day without falling apart.

Blooming doesn’t always look like growth on the outside. Sometimes it looks like resting. Setting a boundary. Getting through something hard without losing yourself.

If all you did today was stay rooted and keep going, that counts. That matters. ❤️🌷

Some days, self-care doesn’t look like bubble baths or time off..

It looks like showing up anyway.
It looks like setting a boundary you’ve been avoiding.
It looks like saying “no” without overexplaining.
It looks like letting yourself feel what you’ve been pushing down.

Real self-care is less about escape, and more about honesty.

About choosing yourself in small, consistent ways, even when it’s uncomfortable.

You don’t need to have it all figured out.

You just need to start listening to what you actually need. 💛
