The first of two RockTape Canada FMT Blades courses completed. IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) will now be available as a treatment option moving forward at Centerpoint Chiropractic. These tools may be used for firmer work, sure, but the old perception that it has to be very painful or cause deep bruising to gain a therapeutic effect is gone. These tools may be used in various ways to communicate with our nervous system to gain a therapeutic effect, from very light to firmer pressure, from rapid to slower strokes. The application of these various strokes can help clear out swelling, stimulate or relax tissue and short-circuit pain signals. I'm looking forward to incorporating IASTM into my massage treatments for those who are interested.
