I was evacuated from Summlerland on August 7th along with the whole neighborhood that lived near Cartwright mountain. That was not the start of evacuations, nor the end yet.
But I was certain that my home was doomed. Then I started hearing that the fire had reached the post office and that's when I knew my home was likely gone.
That turned out to not be true. All the Fire Fighters from everywhere have been fighting hard. They fought hard to save Summerland and surrounding areas.
I do clinical counselling and registered with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association ( #4332)
I can not help much in physical ways but I can offer sound support for any fire fighters, Frontline responders, and ESS volunteers, as well as anyone impacted by this wildfire.
I can go down to $50 for 60 minutes and up to 12 sessions at that rate. It will be on a need basis.
