Be Bear Aware! 🐻
Sun Peaks Pharmacy sells high quality bear spray (No, they are not all the same), and it is priced LESS than other retailers in Kamloops!!!

We have been asked a few questions lately, here are the answers:

- YES, bear spray is an effective non-lethal deterrent to cougars as well as bears.

- YES, bear spray expires. Check the bottom of the can, they are usually good for 2-3 years

- NO, we do not recommend putting it in the bottom of your backpack. Make it easy to grab quickly, in a side pocket or holster.

Since we do not know when our local clinic will reopen I wanted to remind the community of the services we can provide to help bridge any gaps in treatment/care.

We have been updating our website to add links:

"Need to see a doctor?"
- Find a few links that patients have found helpful. Including virtual doctors that can save the journey into Kamloops. These virtual doctor consultations are FREE if you are a BC Resident with a care card (personal health number).
- The doctors can send a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice and also provide requisitions for lab tests (Kamloops is the closest lab).

"Prescription Services"
- We have added information to describe what minor ailments pharmacists in BC can prescribe for.
- The pharmacist consultation is also FREE if you are a BC resident with a care card (personal health number)

Pharmacists are not a replacement for your family doctor, but we can try and help where we can :)

We have also started providing Strep tests as these are required for some virtual doctors before they will provide a prescription for Strep Throat.
These test are $25

Winter Hours start today for Sun Peaks pharmacy!
11am to 6pm 7 days a week.
We have also been expanding our hardware/misc. section. We now have some items including:
- 10lb bags of sidewalk melter (animal and concrete safe)
- small drywall filler
- sand paper sheets
- sealants
- rope
- locks
- paint brushes
- tapes
- and more.

Sun Peaks Pharmacy has been providing flu and covid vaccine to those interested BC Residents. There has been limited availability of vaccine this year but we have received more vaccine and have some extra staff in this week!

If you are a BC resident and would like to stop into the pharmacy today or Friday (Nov. 19th and 21st) between 12pm and 4pm we will do our best to supply you a vaccine while supplies last.
