Wrapping up the week on a higher note as I was reminded to follow up every negative emotion or thought with one of gratitude 🙏
Yesterday was a tough day yes...and today is a new day.

Alice was sick all night so we slept little to none. She is more settled today 💕

Earlier this week I mentioned to the Woodsman that I would love a couple of rustic garden boxes in front of the ole cabin to transplant mint sometime...no rush. The next day there they were waiting for me.
99% of the time he's more than i deserve 🪵 xo
Today, before the rain began, I transplanted and it was great therapy.

Off the homestead this week we attended a beautiful celebration of life for our friend where we were reminded that a full and well-lived life has nothing to do with stuff and everything to do with meaningful relationships, gratitude, laughter and love ❤️

We all have them...one of T.h.o.s.e days. You make a to do list and 9 minutes later you mine as well squish it and willingly go on a detour.

Every morning and evening I have a 6-9 minute "window" while I supervise grain/pellet eating to plan my day and evaluate my day. I love this pause...

Today I made a mental list as I sat. I finished chores and went in for breakfast (the Woodsman has made breakfast for me for 17 years ~ I 💯 recognize this blessing). 4 minutes after breakfast was done, it began...

The goats pulled a Houdini and got into the supply section of the barn. They proceeded to eat excess grain, layer ration, boss, oats 😭 Broke the broody enclosure, unrolled 50ft of towels...ahhhh the list goes on.
They bloated but bs was helpful and they are fine now.

A baby chick died...no apparent reason.

Broody hens are livid and fighting...why?

Alice has been unwell, not eating much and restless...reason unknown but likely carrying stress 😢

My favorite mint plant 🪴 has developed a fungus...really?

Another 2 hens gone broody...noooooo more.

I told The Woodsman today that I miss the days my body felt like 21° with a light breeze...I am stuck between needing a campfire to keep warm sprinkled with A/C to keep from melting 🫠 hmmmmm

I'm tired. I'm borderline grumpy. Okay im grumpy.
I had wine.
I will need a 9:27 bedtime 🌙

Tomorrow is July 24th...not sure what it will bring but it will be a new day 🌄 🌅

Even though the pond has dropped dramatically in the past 2 weeks, the Harlequin Welsh ducks still have plenty of water 💧 for swimming. Love watching these guys n' gals 💚

Living in this neck-of-the-woods you never know what to expect on walks with the Golden Girls🌲🐻 🐺 🦊 🐍
Yesterday they seen a mama bear with 2 cubs around the roads curve. Today a porcupine was on the side of the road and before the Woodsman knew it Alice was on top of it! I'm super thankful for these little miracles because she did not get even one quill embedded!

Goodness my friends, wasn't it ever another hot and humid weekend?! Hope everyone is doing well 💗
We enjoyed hiding in the AC a bit today.

And off the homestead we had the pleasure of going to a wedding of our friends and the minister had beautiful encouragements which I think can be applied to marriages as well as any relationship in our lives...

What makes a healthy home? Mostly love & laughter & forgiveness & kindness...giggles from children and wisdom from seniors ❤️

There are also things we can do to support our physical and emotional health...and those things will look different for all of us based upon our needs and preferences.

When we moved to our land and built our homestead up, we wanted to ensure certain elements in our house...
~ Investing in quality organic Belgian flax linen bedding and a grounding mat because this is where we spend 8 hours of our day and can regulate our frequency.
~ Lots of greens, herbs and plants for joy and healthy eating.
~ Using only incandescent and halogen bulbs that offer warmth and support our natural rhythms.
~ The Woodsman crafted copper handles/door k***s throughout our home which are naturally disinfecting and balance our body's energy.

It doesn't have to be complicated or elaborate ~ small and intentional changes can make a huge impact for our loved ones within our home 🏡
