🌿 You don’t have to have it all figured out to take the first step.

So many of us carry the pressure of needing to "have it all together." We put on a brave face for our families, our jobs, and our friends—but keeping up appearances can get incredibly exhausting.

Here is the truth: Therapy isn’t about being perfect. It’s about having somewhere safe to be completely, unapologetically real.

My goal is always to provide a warm, non-judgmental space where you can lay down the heavy lifting, unpack what’s on your mind, and work through life's challenges at your own pace. Whether you prefer meeting face-to-face or from the comfort of your own home, we are here to support you.

🛋️ How We Can Work Together:
-- In-Person Sessions: Conveniently located in Sundridge, Ontario.
-- Virtual Sessions: Available Canada-wide—bringing support right to your screen, wherever you are.

The 8 phases of are like a roadmap for trauma recovery. You wouldn't go on a cross-country road trip without checking your brakes and packing a map—and we don't dive into trauma processing without preparation.

Here is the breakdown of a successful EMDR journey:
1️⃣ History Taking – Understanding your story.
2️⃣ Preparation – Building your coping and grounding skills.
3️⃣ Assessment – Identifying the specific target memory.
4️⃣ Desensitization – Processing the memory using eye movements/taps.
5️⃣ Installation – Strengthening a positive belief about yourself.
6️⃣ Body Scan – Checking for any leftover physical tension.
7️⃣ Closure – Returning to a safe, grounded state.
8️⃣ Reevaluation – Reviewing progress at the next session.

EMDR doesn't change what happened to you, but it radically changes how it feels to live in your body today.

Even on the hard days.

Look for the small moments—they count. 🤍

Avoidance can feel like relief in the moment—
but often, it keeps us stuck in the very pain we’re trying to escape.

In therapy, we often work on building the capacity to safely feel and process emotions rather than suppress them.

This might look like:
✨ noticing what you’re feeling without judgment
✨ staying present with discomfort in small, manageable ways
✨ developing tools to support regulation

You don’t have to do it all at once—and you don’t have to do it alone.

Trauma can shape how you see yourself, others, and the world.
It can create patterns, beliefs, and protective responses that don’t always feel like you.

But those parts aren’t your identity—they’re adaptations.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about reconnecting with who you were before survival had to take over…
and discovering who you’re still becoming. 🤍

Not every moment has to be big to matter.

Sometimes healing looks like noticing the small things—
the warmth of the sun, a quiet pause, a deep breath.

These are glimmers…
tiny reminders that safety, peace, and joy still exist.

Glimmers are small cues of safety that help regulate the nervous system:
✨ a warm cup of coffee
✨ sunlight through the trees
✨ a moment of connection

When we intentionally notice these moments, we help our body shift toward calm and safety.

What’s one glimmer you noticed today? 🤍

According to researcher Kristin Neff, self-compassion isn’t complicated—
it’s about relating to yourself with kindness instead of criticism.

In practice, this can look like:
✨ speaking to yourself with care
✨ recognizing you’re not alone in your struggles
✨ allowing space for imperfection

You don’t have to be perfect to be worthy of compassion—especially from yourself.

Start small.
Notice your inner voice.
And gently ask: would I say this to a friend? 🤍
