The Muskoka Almaguin Ontario Health Team (MAOHT) is recruiting new members for its Patient, Family, Caregiver Partners Advisory Committee (PFCPAC)!

We’re looking for people with lived experience of the healthcare system who want to share their perspectives, help shape local services, and advocate for more accessible, patient-, family- and caregiver-centred care.

What to expect:

• Time commitment: Approximately 9 hours per month, including meetings, preparation, and committee work

• Compensation: A stipend is available in recognition of your time and contributions

• Location: We welcome members from across the region, including Almaguin, Lake of Bays, Huntsville, Bracebridge and surrounding areas

💙 The colon cancer screening age has changed.

As of July 1, 2026, most people should begin colon cancer screening at age 45.

Colon cancer can develop without symptoms, and screening can help find it early — when treatment is most effective. Early screening can help detect cancer sooner and find precancerous polyps before they become cancer.
