Did you know we also do research for citizenship-by-descent cases?!

It’s so rewarding to find those key documents for individuals/families to show their ancestors had lives and roots in Ontario, Quebec, Atlantic Canada in the 1800s 😀

We work with a network of researchers as well to help order certified copies of old birth and marriage records!

What an experience to visit the Spitfire Museum in Southhampton, England.

The engineering…The skill levels of those who flew…The bravery of those who served.

We were even able to look through their digitized National Roll of the Great War 1914-1918.

Notably, many Canadians also flew Supermarine Spitfires.

In honour of National Day (Yesterday) - 2 historical Acadian dishes: Rappie Pie & Poutine Rapee

Rappie pie (or râpure) “After the 1755 Acadian Expulsion, returning families were left with rocky land where mostly only potatoes could grow. They used grated, liquid-squeezed potatoes combined with meat broth to create a filling, communal dish for large families”. (acanadianfoodie.com)

Here are 2 hand carved wooden game tables from the 1800s (possibly straight out of William IV/Regency Era). We restored these Along with 8 dining chairs ( and wood restoration) 😀🪑🛋️

We love helping our clients with their furniture and their family history!

CASTLE RUINS SERIES:
McKinnon Seat, Isle of Skye, Scotland

We made this journey from the ruins of the ancestral home of the McKinnons on the Isle of Skye, Scotland (Leanne’s 4x Great-Grandparents were James McKinnon & Anne McInnes). This family along with others from the same region of Isle of Skye immigrated to New Brunswick almost 200 years ago!

After our trip to Scotland, we found our way through deep woods of central New Brunswick to find Scotch Settlement! You can tell just by our own photos below these Scottish families were in for the most brutal winter they’d ever faced.
