These beautiful flowers are a "thank you" from a client. I met with him over five sessions and listened to his life story. I then wrote his memoir. I was less a ghost writer and more a scribe. I used his words, his expressions to tell his story. I then worked with him to add pictures from his life, choose fonts and effects that he liked and produced a written document. I just had it professionally printed and bound, and mailed to him. It looks beautiful. And the best part- he loves it! I know his family will also treasure it.
I have been so inspired by this process that I am adding life review/ memoir writing to the services that I offer.

Gabor Mate's book on addiction offers a compassionate and empathic encounter with addicts living on the fringe of society in the Downtown Eastside. What makes this book so compelling is that he talks about his own struggle with a behavioral addiction. I think many can relate to the use of substances or behaviors to distract from anxiety, or to fill a void.
