Concussions are common,but there's still a lot of misinformation about them.
β MYTH: "You have to lose consciousness to have a concussion."

FACT: Most people who experience a concussion do not lose consciousness.
A concussion can happen after a blow to the head, neck, or body that causes the brain to move rapidly inside the skull. Symptoms can appear right away or develop over the next several hours or days.
If you suspect a concussion, it's important to stop the activity, seek a medical assessment, and follow appropriate return-to-school, work, or sport recommendations.
