Myofascial technique or myofascial release is a soft tissue therapy for skeletal muscle treating immobility and pain
This therapy relaxes muscles, improves blood flow and lymphatic circulation.
It also stimulates the stretch reflex in muscles.
The fascia is a protective sheath around the muscle. As a sport therapist I can treat this soft tissue when restricted through overuse, trauma, or inactivity. Symptoms may include pain, muscle tension and/or diminished blood flow in localised areas.
