🧠 SOUND ADVICE: You hear with your brain!
Did you know that hearing is about more than your ears?
Your ears collect sound and send signals to your brain. Your brain then processes those signals, helping you recognize voices, understand speech, and make sense of the sounds around you.
When you’ve been living with hearing loss, your brain may have had less access to certain sounds for months or even years. When you begin wearing hearing aids, those sounds become more available again — and it can take time for your brain to adjust.
That’s why hearing aids aren’t simply about turning up the volume. Your brain needs time and experience to become familiar with sounds you may not have heard clearly for a long time.
✨ Be patient with yourself. Sounds may seem unfamiliar, loud, or different at first. Consistent hearing aid use, appropriate adjustments, and guidance from your hearing care professional can help you through the process.
Remember, your ears bring the sound in, but your brain is what makes sense of it.
At Woods Hearing, we’re here to help you understand the process and support you every step of the way. 🤎
Hearing better means living better.
