Fascia seems to be a big thing going around right now by the number of questions I have been getting so I just want to address some of that!

Yes fascia help can be great for your whole body and your health, just you don’t have to do it everyday or for a set period of time like some people on the internet say.

Here are some great helpers of mine:
-Shaking
-Tapping
-Rebounding
-Yoga sun salutations
(Or really any exercise you want to do to loosen up the tissues in your body will do so just moving some will help it out!)
-Myofascial massage
-Self fascia massage

So all of this comes down to helping with increasing circulation and releasing tension and that could mean better healing so give it a try and see how it works for you!

Or what have you done that you loved and made you feel better?

For your low cortisol you need to do some lifestyle changes…

One can be getting up in the morning (even when you don’t feel like it) and heading outside to get some fresh air and morning sunlight and high we can actually do right now!

Eating within 30 minutes of waking up will also help make sure your adrenals don’t get more stressed out. It doesn’t have to be much but please eat for them something with protein and good fats and complex carbs like a simple piece of whole grain toast with peanut butter is better than zero for your adrenals.

Hydrate your body with nice glass of water and a pinch of salt for your adrenals first thing as well (as long as you have no sodium or kidney issues).

Exercise by building up slowly your work out tolerance because again adrenals don’t like to be pushed too hard to fast so don’t start with HIIT if you have never done it before but walking can be a wonderful way to start.

Then I like to use AOR Ortho Adapt as my favourite supplement for this but also will use any of the following like Ashwagandha, rhodiola, Siberian ginseng, vitamin C, B5, and Magnesium depending on what a person needs and what else they are taking.

Also always check with your healthcare provider before starting any of these.

I know a lot of the info on social media talks about the worries of high cortisol but I have to say I probably see more people with low cortisol or a “flat-line” cortisol (the black dots on the chart). This happens in perimenopause, with PMDD, postpartum, and under stress studies show.

Normally our cortisol is supposed to be higher in the morning to help us wake up and feel refreshed and then declines normally throughout the day towards bedtime when it is low and we are ready to go to bed.

But these days with the prolonged stress that has been ongoing for years now, I see more people where the cortisol can’t rise anymore and is really burnt out. Here a person feels like they don’t wake up in the morning, tired all day but then have trouble sleeping because they don’t have the fluctuation of cortisol to signal the body with a circadian rhythm. (There are other hormones always involved with this too.)

As well with the fatigue, you can have insomnia, low blood pressure and dizziness on rising. It is good to get your blood levels tested and make sure it isn’t something else before relying on treatment for just cortisol.

If you do find out your cortisol is low but not to the extent of having Addison’s Disease), then definitely you need to address your stress levels through lifestyle modification.

Your liver is great at regenerating! (Just like the grasslands!)

It can take anywhere from 1-6 months for your liver to repair itself after an injury. That is so amazing isn’t it 🤯

But to help your liver do its job better please avoid the following:
❌Alcohol and drugs
❌Caffeine
❌Fried and unhealthy fatty foods
❌Ultraprocessed foods
❌Refined sugar
❌Refined white stuff

And if you can stick to whole foods and lots of plants along with lots of water and green tea and you will be on your way to a happier liver!

Liver and hormone regulation.

The liver is so essential for our hormones- estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, thyroid hormones and adrenaline.

If the liver can’t deal with these hormones properly and get rid of the excess from the body then you can have so many hormonal issues.

Also when that adrenaline is being made in response to the modern day life pressures, if the liver can’t clear it all it will end up storing it and this can lead to emotional instability such as depression and anxiety.

So what can you do to help this out?

One simple way is to get outside and go for a walk in nature! (Just maybe wait until the winds stop though.)

The movement gets the blood pumping through the liver to help it do its job on these hormones!

And you can help your liver out by signing up for my course before Monday the 18th!

🚨 ATTENTION 🚨

I am sad to inform you that Unda products will be out of production for quite some time. The company informed me yesterday that a new manufacturing facility is being looked for and the timeline is uncertain!

I would recommend calling in a putting in your order for enough to keep you going for a year approximately since finding facilities doesn’t happen quickly. 😢

I will be looking for alternative solutions.

Spring is related to the organ of the liver in Asian Medicine.

Lately with all the wind we have had this really irritates the liver and can make us feel more irritable and frustrated.

The wind blows us around like the trees in the Asian Medicine viewpoint and so the stronger the wind the more we feel tossed around! If you already have Interior Wind from Liver Yang Rising in Asian Medicine then you can get more aggravated!

Liver Yang Rising can be caused by emotions such as anger, frustration and resentment especially if these are suppressed.

And a diet of fried/greasy foods, super hot and spicy foods, caffeine, chocolate, dairy, alcohol and other stimulants will aggravate the liver. Also it you eat in a rush, eat while working or getting stressed while eating will also stress your liver.

So to help your liver on windy days try to slow down your eating, eat more steamed greens and veggies, and drink water or warm herbal teas.

And to learn more you can sign up for my Spring Into Summer Course!
