One of our favourite fairs to be a part of is Day of Caring, organized by Service Canada.

This event offers barrier-free access to community services. You can apply for SIN, ID, government support programs (from Canada Disability Benefit to Old Age Security) and veteran support services; learn more about tax benefits, legal aid and connect with community organizations.

Yesterday, Therese Henman-Phillips represented Caregivers Nova Scotia at the Day of Caring in Dartmouth.

"For me, it is an opportunity to be at the heart of the community, connecting with caregivers who may not yet be ready to reach out for support, as well as with service providers who interact with caregivers daily and can help connect them to our resources.

It also broadens my understanding and knowledge of the community CNS serves. The more programs and services I am aware of, the better for our caregivers."

Community support like this never goes unnoticed. 🧡

A huge thank you to the CBBC in-house Registered Dental Assistant Class of 2026 for their incredibly generous donation to Cape Breton Search & Rescue.

The class raised the funds through a ticket draw on a beautiful basket valued at over $800 and chose CBSAR as the recipient of the proceeds. We are truly grateful for their support, kindness, and community spirit.

Every act of support from our community helps strengthen the work we do and reminds our members that the people behind CBSAR are backed by an incredible community.

Thank you again to this amazing group for thinking of us and giving back in such a meaningful way. 🧡
