Since the beginning of their practice, Deborah Hart MN NP and her team have been interested in preventative medicine with the belief that an essential foundation for maintaining vitality as we age includes healthy food choices, physical activity, a balanced lifestyle and a good skin care routine. Having been approached multiple times in her Primary Health Care, Family Practice clinics with concerns of aging, excess fat, acne/acne scarring and other medical aesthetic concerns such as wrinkles, skin volume loss & sagging, blemishes etc, by patients who wanted both options for treatment and options other then extended travel and wait times for these treatments, Deborah realized these options were limited. As a healthcare professional whose goals were to increase access to care and enhance each individuals optimal level of well-being, a need was recognized and the practice of Medical Aesthetics & Rejuvenation Medicine was a natural evolution of her background in Emergency & Trauma Practice and her Primary Heath Care, Family Practice Clinics. These advanced Medical Aesthetic & Rejuvenation Medicine services are now available, enhanced and offered in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality, in Sydney and the Halifax Regional Municipality, in Bedford. We are pleased to be able to offer our Nova Scotia community advanced, safe treatments with natural outcomes while giving our patients a safe environment to enhance and restore their self confidence and vitality under the care of respectful, benevolent, providers specifically licensed in Medical Aesthetics & Rejuvenation Medicine

Two types of aging are happening to your skin right now, and only one is in your control. Intrinsic aging is biology. Extrinsic aging is everything layered on top of it, and most of that is preventable.

I am in my fifties, post-menopausal, and my patients regularly stop their own appointments to ask what I do for my skin. Proof that a sustained, evidence based approach works at every stage of life.

Five things aging your skin faster than your actual birthdate. Number four surprises almost every patient.

August is Psoriasis Awareness Month. Chronic inflammation accelerates skin aging, and inflammatory skin conditions are one of the most overlooked accelerants. A proper assessment looks past the surface to what is actually driving change underneath.

Anti-aging was always the wrong goal. Aging skin is biology, not a failure to reverse. The plans that work best are built around function, not a number on a mirror.

aUgUst is for U.

Take some U Time

Find your next U moment

We all have something we’ve been saving for “someday.” Maybe August is someday.

WHAT KIND OF U TIME?
A little refresh. A bigger plan. Or just something that feels good.

Refresh U
Glow U
Plan U
Feel like U

Refresh U: Botox, filler, and treatments designed to keep you looking like you.

Glow U:
Facials, microneedling, peels, and skincare for hydrated, polished, late-summer skin.

Plan U:
Start thinking ahead to fall with a personalized laser and device treatment plan.

Feel like U:
Skin and body support, confidence, and care that goes beyond what’s in the mirror.

What kind of U time are you looking forward to?

Summer feels healthy. Your collagen is telling a different story.

UV degrades collagen actively all season. The visible result shows up years later.

SPF daily. Medical-grade skincare. Regenerative treatments to stimulate repair.

When aesthetic treatment goes wrong, the most common reason is not a technical error.

It is a misalignment between the goal and the philosophy behind the treatment plan.

A provider focused on adding volume rather than restoring balance produces a different result than one assessing the whole face as a system.

The goal at First Impressions is always a refreshed, supported version of the face that is already there.

If that is not the outcome, the responsibility is the provider’s.

Looking refreshed and looking different are not the same goal.

When aesthetics goes wrong, it is almost always a philosophy problem. A provider focused on adding rather than supporting produces a different result.

At First Impressions, the goal is always a refreshed, supported version of the face that is already there.
