🤩 Now Accepting New Clients, ages 8+.

We've been working hard behind the scenes to find someone who would be a wonderful fit for our community and team. I sat with Brennah a few times, and it was clear that her warmth and compassion, knowledge, and care for her clients were evident from our very first conversation. We couldn't be happier to welcome Brennah Stairs, Registered Counselling Therapist to our team! 😃 Please read below to learn more about Brennah.

Amanda & Joanna have been making their way through our waitlist. Please email or phone our office if you'd like to be booked in with Brennah. ([email protected]; 902-567-3756). If you've been on our waitlist but requested to see a psychologist only, you will remain on our waitlist. Please notify us if you'd like to change this specification.

Brennah is a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) who received her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Therapy from Dalhousie University. Mental health has been a consistent thread throughout her education and career, leading her to gain experience across a variety of healthcare and counselling settings.

Brennah works with older children, adolescents, and adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, self-esteem challenges, stress, life transitions, and interpersonal concerns. She takes a client-centered and evidence-based approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions to help clients build resilience, self-understanding, and meaningful change.

Committed to lifelong learning and professional growth, Brennah has completed specialized training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Outside of work, she enjoys walks with her rescue dog, Dodge, baking sourdough bread, and golfing with her family and friends.

We provide psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults in Sydney, NS.

Tara has a few spaces for new ADHD or full Psychoeducational assessments (ages 16+) in the coming weeks. There is limited availability for these assessments, and once initial spaces are filled, we will take names for a waiting list for the near future.

ADHD assessments help determine whether symptoms are consistent with ADHD and can provide diagnostic clarification and recommendations for support.

Psychoeducational assessments are more comprehensive and examine cognitive abilities, academic skills, learning strengths and weaknesses, and information processing. They can help identify learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and other factors that may be impacting academic, workplace, or day-to-day functioning.

Please contact our office for more information on scheduling, fees, and any other questions you may have ([email protected]; 902-567-3756). Thank you! 😀

Construction + downtown parking isn't the best combination. 🤪 Please leave some extra time to find parking today before your appointment, or get dropped off if you're able. Oh, and maybe bring an umbrella for the rain ☔️ Choosing a mindset of radical acceptance might serve you well today...we're trying too! 😅

Of course, not all problems are solved by these basics, and it’s not always easy to get these in order. However, we tend to think that fancy coping strategies or approaches are the answer, when a lot can be said for these underrated core habits. 🏃‍♀️ 😴 🥤
