Sylvan Lake RCMP Regimental Ball gave us a time to come together, talk about the new proposed Urgent Care Centre for Sylvan Lake and Area and celebrate together. Committee Members in this pic are Laurie Norris, Helen Posti and Susan Samson. David Shepherd, MLA for Edmonton-City Centre spoke about the importance of the RCMP, healthcare and working together.

Look what arrived for the staff at Assisted Living Alberta! This new treatment bed is located in the Sylvan Lake Health Building and is used to give patients a safe, appropriate and comfortable place to lie while being treated for such things as dressing changes. This is where your donations to Sylvan Lake and Area Urgent Care Committee go!

Important advocacy by Mayor Megan, council and the Town of sylvan Lake.

We know there are challenges facing Sylvan Lake that are outside of a municipality’s direct responsibility, but that does not mean they are outside of our concern. That is why healthcare has been identified as one of Council’s advocacy priorities.

Our goal is clear: to advocate for Sylvan Lake’s current Advanced Ambulatory Care Centre to be upgraded to an Urgent Care Centre, with expanded hours and staffing to better meet the growing needs of our community today and into the future.

Today, Councillor Johannason and I had the opportunity to meet with Minister LaGrange to continue this important conversation and reinforce the need for enhanced healthcare services in Sylvan Lake.

Thank you, Minister LaGrange, for taking the time to meet with us and for keeping this priority on your radar.

As Sylvan Lake continues to grow, access to timely and appropriate healthcare remains a critical concern. We will continue advocating for improvements that help ensure Sylvan Lake has the healthcare services it needs, both now and in the years ahead.
