Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS) is a scientifically developed therapeutic approach that brings together principles from modern neurology, fascia science, and electrotherapy to help support pain relief and tissue function in the body.

Here is a clear breakdown of how it works👇🏼

1. Scar tissue alters normal tissue signaling
When the body heals after surgery or injury, scar tissue forms with:
altered collagen alignment
reduced glide between tissue layers
disrupted bioelectrical signaling
increased neural sensitivity or guarding
Even years later, scars can remain neurologically active, meaning the nervous system continues to protect the area.

2. Microcurrent targets the scar–nerve–fascia connection
The Dolphin MPS device delivers very low-level microcurrent (measured in millionths of an amp) to specific points in and around the scar.
This microcurrent:
mirrors the body’s natural electrical signals

Some might not know this about me, but I’m a certified equine body worker.

Although I don’t practice equine bodywork directly with anyone other than close family and friends, my training in equine anatomy and physiology strongly informs my work with riders. The horse–rider system functions as a biomechanical partnership, and compensation patterns frequently develop across both bodies. When a rider experiences pain, restriction, or weakness during or after riding, the horse is often compensating in related regions—and vice versa.

As a lifelong rider, this perspective has been invaluable. Understanding shared load, movement strategies, and neuromuscular adaptations allows me to better assess and support riders in the clinical setting, with the goal of improving comfort, performance, and longevity.

We’re so excited to welcome Holly to Snap Fitness Sylvan Lake! With over 10 years of experience, Holly brings a deeply therapeutic, client-centered approach to massage therapy, focused on treating the root cause of symptoms and restoring balance and function to the body.

Trained at MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy, Holly has continued to expand her expertise through advanced training in biomechanics and pain science, trigger point release, neurokinetic therapy, cupping, manual therapy, and MPS scar release therapy. She works with a wide range of clients and conditions, including motor vehicle accidents, post-surgical rehabilitation, sports injuries, repetitive strain, and chronic stress-related injuries and illnesses.

Lower Back Pain - 7 Essential Moves for Pain Relief & Strengthening Muscles

Overview

Lower back pain is a fairly common health issue, partly because so many things can cause it.

In some cases, it might be a symptom of an underlying condition, such as kidney stones or fibromayalgia. Other times, it’s simply a side effect of a sedentary lifestyle or reptitive motions.

Regardless of what’s causing your lower back pain, these seven moves can help to reduce the pain and strengthen the muscles in your lower back.

First, a few quick tips

It’s important that you stretch your lower back with safety and care. Be especially gentle and cautious if you have any type of injury or health concern.

You can do these stretches once or twice a day. But if the pain seems to get worse, or you’re feeling very sore, take a day off from stretching.

As you go through these stretches, take your time and play close attention to your breathing. Use your breath as a guide to make sure you don’t strain or overdo it. You should be able to breathe comfortably and smoothly throughout each pose or stretch. And remember to only stretch your muscles after your muscles are warm. Stretching your muscles before strenuous activity, such as running or lifting weights, can increase your chance of creating a muscle tear.
