We’re excited to welcome Elizabeth & Garrett to our team as Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant!

Their support will help us improve scheduling, customer care and call-back times so you may hear a new voice when calling locally at 431 830 4545 or through our toll free number at 1 888 664 6458!

Your comfort and confidentiality remain our top priority.

Both new staff members have signed Galia’s confidentiality agreement, which is aligned with Manitoba's Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) & the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association's (CCPA) ethical standards of care.

Our updated Client Consent outlines the limited information they may access to perform their roles
(such as name, birthday, and payment details),
but not confidential medical information or clinical notes.

Every current client was emailed an updated Client Consent form this week so please check your inboxes :)

"Counsellor Caroline" had the pleasure of visiting the library as the Guest Reader for Saturday Storytime! 📚💙

Along with my awesome sidekick, Avery (who has both ADHD and autism), we read All You Can Be with ADHD by Penn & Kim Holderness. It was such a fun way to celebrate the amazing strengths, creativity, and unique ways our brains work.

A huge thank you to Allanah, our wonderful librarian, for inviting us to be part of such a special morning! And an even bigger shout-out to all of the incredible kids who listened so attentively and created some absolutely amazing artwork afterward.

I especially loved today's craft—just paper, paint, and complete freedom to let their imaginations take over. It was the perfect fit for the story's message that there isn't just one "right" way to think, create, or express yourself.

I can't wait to come back for another Storytime soon!

🌿📚 Excited to partner with the Thompson Public Library for a conversation bringing together two of my biggest passions — mental health and education.

As a homeschool parent since 2008, a school counsellor with Frontier School Division since 2023, and now a private practice Psychotherapist with Galia Wellness Services since May 2025, I’ve had the privilege of supporting families in many different ways.

This event is a welcoming space to explore homeschooling, school supports, advocacy, and supporting children’s mental health and learning in today’s world. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to the Heritage North Museum for hosting such a wonderful guided tour this afternoon with Northern Knowledge Keeper Morris Hart of Nelson House.

It was an honour to listen to the teachings shared about northern history and the significance of various animals within traditional oral histories passed down through generations.

Following the tour, meaningful conversations continued of future collaboration between Morris, the Heritage North Museum and Galia Wellness Services that will bring together history, traditional teachings, and holistic approaches to wellness in the North.

The Museum honoured Morris with to***co and other honouriums and then in an unexpected and emotional gesture , Morris gave the blanket to Caroline saying

"This is a reminder that we all need to
Comfort ourselves, to give ourself attention, to nurture, love ourself."

The blanket will have a special place in the Galia Wellness Services downtown office, where it can offer warmth and comfort to those receiving mental health support.

This is what community, partnership, and shared healing are all about. ❤️

The encouragement, kindness, and connection started at the 102.9 CHTM Trade Show was something truly special, and we wanted to keep that momentum going in our community a little longer.

Hey there Thompson,

We are excited to announce we are partnering up with the NRHA and Galia Wellness Services to do an I.D. Employment and Wellness Support Event here at the Thompson Public Library!

We have two dates this is happening:
Wednesday May 6th at 12 to 2PM
and Saturday June 6th at 1 to 3PM

Each of us will be providing different services:
- The NRHA will be providing free assistance in attaining a Birth Certificate and/or Manitoba Health Card on site.
- Caroline Winship of Galia Wellness Services (a licensed Psychotherapist) will be offering "Pathway to Care" support - providing brief, on-site connection, emotional support, and guidance to help individuals access appropriate services and resources. - The Thompson Public Library Programmer Alannah will be providing help starting and editing a resume with free printing of 3 copies of completed resumes.

We will have coffee and a snack while supplies last as well! Come get free help for any of these services on the above dates here at the Thompson Public Library!
