Kneehill Funeral Services

Kneehill Funeral Services We are experienced, caring and attentive professionals who personally provide for every aspect of your loved one's funeral service, cremation and burial needs.

My name is Ed Stephan, and along with my wife Terry we are the owner/operators of Kneehill and West View Funeral Services. We are experienced, caring and attentive professionals who personally provide for every aspect of your loved one’s funeral service, cremation and burial needs. I have over 30 year’s experience as a funeral director/embalmer in Alberta. I have worked since 1989 in the Three Hil

ls, Trochu and Olds areas. I am the only full time employee and along with my wife and a dedicated assortment of part-time employees have been in operation as Kneehill Funeral Services since 2008 and West View Funeral Services since 2013. We have a funeral home in Three Hills, Olds and a funeral home and crematorium in Trochu. I honestly love this work. I do not have an answering service; I hate them, especially in our industry. I believe that we have and do provide above quality service at extremely reasonable prices. We believe our service and merchandise prices are fair and have published the prices of eight basic packages on our website. We actively promote the participation of families in memorializing their loved ones: it may be as simple as acting as a greeter at the register, ushering the congregation, to making their own urns, cremation containers or caskets. We also actively work with Alberta Government Agencies such as AISH and are Funeral Service Providers for the Red Deer Memorial Society.

*Please contact us directly to ask about any current COVID19 restrictions in place.

Patricia Diane Ancion
February 24, 1947 – May 28, 2026

Patricia Diane Ancion was born in Red Deer, Alberta, to Albert and Iva Cooper of Pine Lake, Alberta. She was the eldest of three children and was raised in the Pine Lake area.

Patricia attended Pine Lake No. 2 School, a one-room schoolhouse, from Grades 2 through 6, and completed Grades 7 through 12 at Delburne Centralized School. Following graduation, she attended Key Secretarial School in Red Deer, Alberta.

Her training led to a variety of positions throughout her career. Before her marriage to Lloyd Ancion of Lousana on December 2, 1967, at the Holy Trinity Pine Lake Church, she worked at Innisfail High School and for Crossland Peacock Insurance Adjusters in Calgary. After taking time away from the workforce to raise her family, she worked briefly at a Diet Centre in Red Deer, followed by a couple of years with Lund Saddlery, where she developed leatherworking skills and even built a saddle for her brother, Alan. She always had fond memories of exercising Alan’s horses for him. She had a special bond with her sister Anne, sharing so many life trials, and triumphs more a friend than a sister. Prior to retirement, Patricia worked for fifteen years at Knievel Agencies in Elnora as an insurance representative, Alberta Registries clerk, and bank teller.

Patricia was known for her deep love of family and her talent for bringing people together. She was often the driving force behind family reunions and organized several reunions for her former classmates as well. She enjoyed gardening, tending her flower beds, baking, painting, quilting, puzzles, bird watching, reading and photography. She was a proud member of a quilting club in Elnora and lovingly made quilts for many family members, creating treasured keepsakes that will be cherished for generations. If you weren't quick enough, Patricia would capture your photo—photography was one of her greatest passions.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Francis Albert Cooper (2010) and Iva Elizabeth Cooper (née Shail) (2014); her husband, Lloyd Ancion (2007); her son, Mark Ancion (2003); her parents-in-law, Les (2004) and May (2005) Ancion; brothers-in-law Keith Ancion (2018), Wally Meding (1981), and Melvin McLeod (1969); and her nephew, Michael Meding (1971).

She is lovingly remembered by her sister, Anne (Greg) Frolek; her brother, Alan (Erlene) Cooper; her son, Terance Ancion, and his wife, Teresa Splettstoeszer; her grandsons, Austin (Birgit) Ancion and Logan (Lindsay) Ancion; her great-grandchildren, Grayson, Kollyns, Tatum, Kinsley, and Charlie; her step-grandsons, Alex Hoffman and Zachary Demas; her step-granddaughter, Julianna Demas; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Patricia's warmth, creativity, and dedication to family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robin Lynne Strub, age 38, of Calgary, Alberta, on May 9, 2026.

Robin was born in Calgary on October 11, 1987, along with her twin sister Roseanne Hoffman. She was raised primarily in Sundre, Alberta, growing up surrounded by caring family and friends. A hardworking woman, she followed her heart into healthcare, becoming a healthcare aide and dedicating herself to helping others. Later, she transitioned into construction and, through determination and grit, worked her way up.

Robin was a devoted mother and a thoughtful, loving friend to many. She could light up a room simply by walking into it. Strong-minded and courageous, she always put up a great fight and never quit, no matter the odds. She could make a place feel like home in minutes, and her smile brought light to so many lives. Robin was always one call away—ready to do everything in her power to fix what was wrong or make things better, especially for her children. She loved deeply and had a heart of gold.

Robin is survived by her loving children, daughter Chloe Hughes and son Dalton Strub; her mother, Teresa Petersen; her father, Heath Strub; her twin sister, Roseanne Hoffman; and her brother, KC Strub, as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her stepfather, Wayne Petersen; her uncle, Bill Scheers; her grandmother, Fay Scheers; and her very cherished friend, Joey O’bray.
