COLLEEN MAUREEN DUMAS, born May 24, 1957 in Calgary Alberta passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026 at the young age of 68.

Colleen was predeceased by her parents Ron and Minnie Dumas and nephew Christopher Seitz.

Colleen was a beloved sister to Marie Seitz, Brother Bob and Sister-In-law Ann Dumas, Sister Anna and Brother-In-law Lyle Nelson.

Colleen will be sadly missed by her Niece Nadine Dumas and Great Nephew Zadien Briggs. Nephew Jeffery Seitz. Niece Jessica and Nephew Jesse Yeats and Great Nephew Creighton and Great Niece Hadley Yeats. Nephew Blair and Great Nephew Tag and Great Nephew Max Friesen, Great Niece's Isla and Dita Friesen. Niece Michelle and Nephew Tyrell Houchen and Great Nieces Lily, Teagan and Brooklyn Houchen. Several cousins and aunt/uncle will miss her.

Colleen touched the lives of many with her sense of humour, warmth, creativity, curiosity and outgoing nature.

Colleen graduated grade 12 in 1979 from Saint Mary's High School in Calgary Alberta. She went on to pursue a career in Secretarial Arts. She worked at the Calgary City Hall for several years. Then took a Course in Caregiving and worked as a Care Giver for Challenge Adults for the last 15 years. Colleen enjoyed volunteering at the Ogden House with the seniors that she looked forward visiting on a monthly basis.

As a kid Colleen enjoyed playing volleyball and participating
gymnastics. Her favorite activities and hobbies were oil painting landscapes and mountain scenery, sketching and knitting hats/mittens and crochet several doilies, dishcloths and beautiful blankets. Colleen could crochet any pattern she was very creative and talented.

Colleen's younger sister Anna and her played a lot of board games; their favorite was Monopoly. Colleen was always the banker and Anna could never figure out why she always lost. Maybe the banker was cheating.

Colleen had a dog Hailey and a cat Rosie. Those animals were Colleen's pride and joy; they were her children.

Colleen's Celebration of Life is on August 8, 2026 at 12:00 noon in the Trochu Community Center Sunterra Room, followed by a luncheon. ** Please the West entrance at the Community Center. **

Internment is at the Trochu Cemetery at 11:00 am.

PLEASE NOTE: The interment of Garnet’s ashes will take place on Saturday, July 18 at the Lessard Cemetery at 12:00 pm. A luncheon will follow at the Lessard Hall from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Garnet Fredrick Behrens age 80 years at the Myron Thompson Hospital in Sundre, AB.

Garnet was the first child in a family of 5 children born to Fred and Mabel Behrens. For the first 17 years of his life, Garnet lived on the family farm in the Lessard area. After the farm sold, he later moved to Bonnyville with his family. Over the years Garnet worked as a truck driver, a rig hand in the oil field finally finding his niche as a certified refrigeration mechanic. At the age of 27 he met his future wife Vicki and her 2 year old son Shane and married a year later.

Though city life offered employment opportunities, he missed the peace and quiet of country living. Many years later he bought an acreage which he referred to as his "little place of Heaven on Earth" and resided there until his passing on March 25, 2026.

He is lovingly survived by his wife of 53 years, Vicki Behrens, son Shane (Beverly) Behrens, grandchildren: Colbey (Nicki) Behrens and Grady Behrens, sister Lois (Emil) Vogel and brothers Loren (Josie) Behrens and Randy (Shannon) Behrens.

He was predeceased by his father Fredrick Behrens, stepmother Wilma Behrens, mother Mabel Newgard, stepfather Hartwick Newgard and brother Chris Behrens.

Brian Patrick Hoschka
Oct 8th, 1955 - June 18th, 2026
With hearts full of both gratitude and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Brian Patrick Hoschka, age 70, of Airdrie, Alberta, on June 18, 2026. Brian passed away with his family by his side following a brief but fiercely aggressive battle with blood cancer.

To know him was to love him; the world has truly lost a great man, husband, father, mentor, loyal friend, and a fierce protector of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and deep community roots.

Brian was born on October 8, 1955, to Pat and Marilyn Hoschka in Olds, Alberta. He attended school from grades one through twelve in Olds before beginning his career with Hudson’s Bay Oil and Gas in 1978. This marked the start of a lifelong dedication to the oilfield industry that only ended with his recent passing. Working in Regulatory Compliance, a Journeyman Millwright, and later as an API 653 Tank Inspector, Brian remained heavily active in the industry mentoring the next generation of oilfield professionals.

Beyond his career, Brian was profoundly committed to public service. On September 1, 1977, he began a remarkable 37-year stint with the Olds Fire Department. Rising from the rank of rookie to Deputy Fire Chief, he served his community with distinction until his retirement from the department in 2014, when he and Robynn relocated to Airdrie.

Brian’s greatest joy was his family, who affectionately knew him as "Pops." He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Robynn; his son, Mitch (Lauren) Hoschka of Cochrane, and their children, Knox and Dacia; his daughter, Jessica (Micah) Blakeley of Calgary, and their daughter, Haylee.

He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Kevin (Cynthia) Hoffman of Calgary; brother, Brent Hoschka of Olds; sisters, Deb (Peter) Sanden of Hussar; and Paula (Arla) Horn of Edmonton.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Pat, in 2024, and his mother, Marilyn, in 2025

A celebration of life will be held at a future date to honor a man who spread love and kindness wherever he went and who will live in our hearts forever.

Marjory (Marji) Ellen Krahn was born to Ray and Joyce Tucker on August 9, 1947, in Seattle, Washington. She passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family, in the very same hospice in Calgary where she had faithfully served as a chaplain.

Marji is survived by her devoted husband, Art; her sons, Phil (Rena) and Mark (Jenny); and her cherished grandchildren, Breanna, Riley, Sarah, Aidan, Katie, and Chelsea. She also leaves behind her siblings, Anne Tucker, Mary (George) Robinson, and Nathan (Stacey) Tucker, along with their families and many lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Stevie and her sister Patty Tucker.

Marji was vibrant and kind-hearted, capable and intelligent. Her warmth enveloped everyone she met. She loved deeply and generously, always putting her family, friends, and community before herself. She possessed a fierce grace and an unwavering love for those who were struggling, consistently stepping forward as an advocate for the underdog and a source of strength for anyone facing difficult times.

As a dedicated hospice chaplain, she walked alongside countless individuals and families near the end of their lives, providing profound comfort, grace, and spiritual support when it was needed most. It was a beautiful reflection of her impactful life that she spent her final days enveloped in the peace and care of the hospice community she loved so dearly.

She also loved teaching the marriage and family life course at Prairie College, where she cherished the opportunity to support and guide young people as they embarked on their life journeys. Her compassion, advocacy, sense of humour, and love leave behind a legacy that will live forever in the hearts of those who knew her.

To her family and friends, Marji was truly an angel on Earth. We take great comfort in knowing that the Lord has called her home, where she is now pain-free, reunited with Stevie and the many loved ones who predeceased her, and at eternal peace with her Saviour.

A memorial service celebrating Marji’s life will be held at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church (123 4th Ave E, Three Hills, AB) on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and join in honoring the beautiful life she lived. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

William James "Jim" Boyd
July 13, 1958 – May 29, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William James “Jim” Boyd on May 29, 2026, at the Continuing Care Facility in Olds, Alberta.

Jim was born on July 13, 1958, at the Innisfail Hospital in Innisfail, Alberta, to Shirley and Lyle Boyd. He grew up knowing the value of family, and throughout his life he lived by that belief. Whether you were related by blood or connected through friendship, Jim considered you family. The people he cared about always came first.

Jim was known for his generous heart and his willingness to help anyone in need. If someone needed a hand, advice, a meal, a place to stay, or even money, Jim was there. He would often give without hesitation, even if it meant giving his last dollar. Those who knew him would agree that Jim gave far more than he ever received, and he did so without expecting anything in return.

Jim’s working life was as varied as it was impressive. He began his first job at the Bluebird Diner in Innisfail as a dishwasher before eventually becoming a cook. Cooking remained one of his greatest talents throughout his life. Many family members and friends were welcomed into his home for meals, barbecues, birthdays, Christmas gatherings, and countless celebrations. Sharing food was one of the many ways Jim showed his love.

Over the years, Jim worked in many trades, including carpentry, cement work, electrical work, roofing, tiling, flooring, window washing, and on drilling rigs, where his tall stature and blond hair earned him the nickname “Wonder Bar” among his coworkers. His work eventually took him overseas to Nigeria, where he worked on oil rigs. True to his nature, Jim formed friendships with local workers despite being advised to keep his distance. He was fascinated by the people and culture he encountered and felt privileged to learn from them. When it came time for him to leave, he generously gave money to his coworkers so they could hold a feast in his honour. Upon returning home, he delighted in sharing stories of his experiences and the friendships he had made.

Jim will be lovingly remembered by his son, Adam Boyd (Kyla Ginther); his daughter, Erin Nugent (Taran Nugent); and his beloved granddaughter, Aubrey. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Boyd; his sister, Kathy Olson (Jamie Wills); his brothers, Robert, Allen, and Leslie Boyd; his sister, Bernice Boyd; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Jim was predeceased by his father, Lyle Boyd, who passed away on March 14, 2018, at the age of 82.

To know Jim was to know someone who never hesitated to help others and who made people feel welcome wherever he was.

Jim’s life was measured not by material things, but by the countless lives he touched through his kindness, generosity, laughter, and friendship. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we are grateful for the memories, lessons, and love he shared so freely.

Forever loved, forever remembered, forever missed. ❤️
