Late in 2021, Coach Matt Valley and Chad Clower connected to discuss how to support Oliver-Paipoonge and do something a little bit different. CC SLP PC, a sponsor of the Fighting Walleye, wanted to give back to Oliver-Paipoonge and knew Coach Valley and the Fighting Walleye were the perfect partners.

The Kam River Fighting Walleye 🐠🥅🏒

WALLEYE WEDNESDAY

Walleye Wednesday is a 5 week series where Kam River Fighting Walleye players present and read specifically selected books to the JK-Grade 5 students/classes at: Crestview Public School, Kakabeka Falls Public School, Whitefish Public School and Valley Central Public School.

The hour long engagement will include the Walleye players interacting and reading books with the students followed by the players engaging in literacy and reading activities such as sound identification and rhyming.

Near the end of each session, the students will have an interactive question and answer period where they can ask their heroes some questions about hockey and life.

We cannot be more excited to partner with the Fighting Walleye and Lakehead Public schools for this special project.
